IAS guys are smart enough to ensure: 1. File on appointment gets stalled. There are enough typos, read between lines, will ensure the new JS will have powers of section officers. 3. Finance Dept will ensure pakaar gets delayed and travelling bills are not cleared. 4. Admin will ensure the car fuel tank will leak, starter motor not crank etc. Good luck to lateral

Hahahah true, Sir Humphrey must be ready with his tricks. Maybe they fuck up this recruitment itself to bury it for another 10 years. As Sir Humphrey says, never say no to a minister's idea for reform. Just kill it!
But then, if it doesn't happen today, it will happen sometime else. The direction is clear. Direct recruits should work on themselves throughout their service to be able to compete. Also, govt. Should allow them to take the "revolving door" to the pvt. Sector for few years too.

Nahi Bhai wo log adani Aur ambani ka invisible hand rahega ..
The only resistance to the move could have been from those in service. But looks like we now have civil servants supporting this decision. This seems to be unstoppable now. If tomorrow some other political party comes to power they will reap the benefits of the seeds planted by present government.

Imo its a sort of perception management by honourable modiji on two fronts.one he just want to signal aspirants community that we must have ambition beyond upsc and can be easily be accomodated in to the services afterwards.secondly a signal to ias lobby that their promotions and plum posting cant be taken for granted. There by consoling those major chunk of youth who have all free net to comment on some educational and lbsnaa video but no money and oppertunity to prepare for this prestigious exam.so they may get an idea ki ias is also not that safe.
This thing just like surgical strike used to happen before.but modiji is really great in politics of symbolism and perception management
There are some people making forum toooo political. RSS rss har thread comments mein same allegations.
Question paper? Rss Marks? Rss Lateral entry? Rss Reduction in vacancy? Rss Pattern change? Rss Anything under the sky happens because of RSS.
Just a suggestion from fellow aspirant: please show maturity and don't indulge in futile and sometimes only non-sense discussion. Some people have created more than 20 threads all of which are political. You don't prepare for sure but let others do.
And please read more about lateral entry. Go through 2nd ARC recommendation, previous civil service reform committee recommendations, history of efforts towards lateral entry if any and then comment apolitically.
Just a suggestion. Baki aap future ias hain. Jo karenge sahi hai.
Thia ia the problem, people start generalizing certain facts to make those facts trivial.
Right now - lateral entry and PMO FC course policy are real threat to objectivity and transparency. Just google and see how many people in board of directors of PSUs, in other Govt Institutes aret affiliated with RSS. RSS CM like Biblab is great example of what this organisatiom like- it is not forward thinking and backward linking.
If I ve to explain why - absolute rule of people who r from certain ideology is dangerous ofor a heterogeneous nation like India on this platform then I may be I shdnt explain.
The very basic element for which ARC or another commission was made - was to find out measures in improving the efficiency of working and service-delivery in bureaucracy. Out of all the measures recommend - this Govt selects the one which suits its agenda. Reform shd start by giving certain independence to police , est of state security commission- an independent body and tenure guarantee to CServants at imp posts like SP / DM.
But lets keep this debate on hold for now - and see whcih 10 finally gets seselected.
What congress has done to India, BJP does it with 10 times more intensity and magnitude. Most ( post independece) of the evil started from congress and then BJP takes it to next level.
But their core philosophy is same - power grabbing and looting.
