I am a student of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (body set up by an act of Parliament). Our Institute also postponed all the exams in TN, AP, Pondicherry. Here is the link : http://resource.cdn.icai.org/39878exam29472.pdf
So, the students from these areas should not worry. UPSC will take appropriate steps. Most probably you will have different exam dates with different question papers. UPSC will not postpone the exams for other cities.

well i think its easier to postpone the exam by one week than set all the papers for all the subjects . rest upsc knows
Bhai koi to exam aage badhwaa do yaar ...Main haath jodd raha hoon yaar aap sab logo ke ......Kaho to pairr bhi padh loonga .......Lekin pls exam aage badhwaa do yaar .....
Friends who think there is no need to postpone exam, just have some empathy, put yourself in our situation once: 1.essential supplies stopped. 2.no electricity for past 3days even in day time there only little sun light which is of no use. 3.no drinking water at all everything contaminated by mixing of drainage water.how could v use our toilets? 4.drainage overflowed in many houses, just imagine drainage and feces all in your houses. 5.kneep deep water on roads with so many snakes and dangerous insects. 6.water level on many city roads atleast to 3feet level, even airport and Raj Bhavan flooded with knee deep water. 7.shortage of medicines,my neighbour a diabetic patient missed his insulin shots,we struggled in waist deep water to take him to hospital. 8.railway tracks damaged, many roads closed coz many bridges damaged, even if our exam centre is changed how vil v transport. 9.till date no mobile towers working. 10.even if water recedes it vil take more than a month for chennai to settle. 11.oil refinery in chennai halted production as it is flooded,so no fuel for next few days. it is impossible for any student to study in such circumstances, surrounded by feces, snakes etc and without light food or water, nature have cursed us to the core so,should UPSC also do the same, only postponing the exam would help.
ive already mentioned about my complaint in CPGRAMS,now the ball is in upsc's court,if at all anybody truly wanted to help us do the following: 1.file a request in CPGRAMS. 2.use twitter to convey this message to media,PM,DoPT. friends we are only around 500-550 students in chennai we alone cant fight,i request all my fellow brothers and sisters to spare some time to help, this is our life and everything plz dont let us down for no mistake of ours.
