Just gave a call to UPSC(23385271) said "Sir I have been allotted Chennai as my exam center and my allotted college is drowned and I m unable to book any train as most of them are cancelled and probability of going there by road look dim by looking at the present condition,so is there any chance that exam can be postponed??"
He replied Its still 15 days to go uptill then condition will be normalized and there is no chance of exam getting postponed.I tried to say that many of my friends are stranded there and there is no electricity as well as shortage of food and water hence they are unable to study, wont it be unfair he said what can he do its an act of god govt is doing whatever they can.."

Grievance Description : Dear Honourable PM, Chennai is facing a major disaster in the form of heavy rains and floods,in this context UPSC has sheduled to conduct the civil services mains examination, water has entered many of our houses and there is a spread of waterborne diseases, we are worst hit and it will take time for us to return to normal, our misery and sorrow cannot be explained in words,in this context it is difficult for us to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination,it would be helpful if the exam could be postponed considering the heavy damage caused to us due to natures fury.

You should have let the pm know that this is an exam only for 15k people, otherwise they think its a big exercise
  • My heart and mind goes to people of Chennai and Tamilnadu.
situation should improve as soon as possible.
Contact upsc exam cell and make them aware of ground situation.
Ask them how they help you.
Separate exam for affacted will be ideal but postponing is no solution.
  • i called up upsc just now. the person on the other side told me that situation is yet to be reviewed. The affected people can give a written letter to the commission. Pl write to the commission thru emails and try giving as many online petitions as possible. I also appeal to the other people to stand by us and cooperate in this hour of challenge. thank u
