approximately how many from psychology are appearing at the interview?

  • This interview process is highly subjective. Why subject one to a stress interview and another to a cordial one?
Anyway, I like this "Name 5 ..." etc. I understand it would be very difficult to enumerate things.
@Ging7 were you able to enumerate well?
  • @Ging7 I am wondering if you are from Malenadu area ? what is your optional bro ?

  • @Ging7 - Fab interview bro.
Making me further believe that these are the kind of interviews that see you through.
Unlike the kind I had, straight forward and lacking depth.
I am increasingly becoming sure that a tough interview is the one that sails you across.
  • Hi all, had a pretty bad interview exp. Was asked mostly random factual questions and very little related to DAF. Can't recollect many, but here are a few.

    Razdan Board.

First showed me my photo and asked me to sit after a few seconds. The others smiled at me as RR inspected the photo.

Razdan asked me to name 5 or more wild cats, then to name their habitats. Then asked me how many endangered cats are currently endemic to India. Went on to a small discussion on the meaning of 'endemic'. One of the others in my group was also asked about cats. Seems like Razdan is in love with the cats this year.

Razdan then asked me to name three ornamental trees domesticated and wild and their natural habitats.

(no, I am no botany/zoology student)

Tennis was my hobby, so I was asked for top Indian female player currently and then was asked the reason for the rule that if the serve brushes the net, then the serve has to be replayed. Then was asked how many GS titles indian women have won. I was then asked to name three european women who has partnered with Mirza.

Razdan then asked me the literacy rate and HDI of Karnataka and asked me the volume of illegal mining last year... was not satisfied with vague figures.

The members mostly continued the general tone.

M1 asked to explain the concept of Kuznet's curve and apply it to Africa. I was then asked to summarize RBI's recent quarterly review. Then asked me to comment on the concept of interim budget, and asked if it is flawed.
Do any other countries have better alternatives?
Should India adopt an interim budget system with shorter duration?
What were the most interesting items this year?
Who is the FM? Where is he from? Who does he love to quote? Have you read any of the kurals?

M2 asked about Karnataka's cultural heritage (probably taking the cue from M1)
Name the best book in Kannada that you have read?
Name any famous translator for Kannada works?
Why isn't translation of indian works more common? Don't we have literary works of great genius that should be exhibited to the world?
    What can be done?

    M3 came back to environment.
Do you think that India is doing enough to address climate change?
Name four schemes that can make an immediate impact?
Name four schemes that can make long term impact?
How can India help Africa combat climate change?
    How can we help Bangladesh?
Africa or Bangladesh - where should we focus?

M4 asked me about my hobby of reading books
    What sort of books?
Name 3 Indian authors you read recently?
Where is Salman Rushdie currently residing?
    What is Magical Realism?
How is it different from Marquez's works (Marquez had just died)
What is the difference between Fantasy and Magical Realism?
Don't you think that fantasy can also have social messages?
Is it only social relevance that makes a work good literature?
    Got into needless argument here...
    Which was Rushdie's first book?
    Who won the last Booker?
    Who was the last Indian?
Why is Rushdie not winning bookers anymore?
    Is he past his best?

    Razdan interrupted.
Have you heard of Gadgil? What is his contribution to economics?
Name 5 endangered species in Karnataka.
Which river project was in news in connection with Gadgil recently?
Which endangered species was involved there?
Lion or Tiger - which should get major attention now?
    Is lion endemic to India?
How many types of Lions are there?
    How many types of Tigers?
    What is Liger?

    Ok, you may go now.
By the way whats your background? Any work Experience? I am also from Karnataka. It felt horrible after reading your transcript.
  • @Ging7 yaar yeh tennis par kya poochh daala :(
    Very challenging interview
