  • I think that strange 'freedom' vaali baat landed our anonymous benefactor in some trouble
  • Constitution "does" permit reservation on the basis of gender. Otherwise, women reservation is state civil services and panchayats would have been nullified by Supreme Court. I think he made a mistake by saying that Constitution does not permit women reservation.
As of now, there is no provision for women reservation in central government jobs. As soon as the Central govt. passes a bill to introduce women reservations in central govt. jobs, they will get.

Yes, I agree. It was a too casual and hasty answer. Should have answered in a constructive way like better infra. facilities, professors, etc.

  • I will maintain..
    1. Caste based or social criteria of reservation should be abolished and a economic criteria should be implemented.
    2. No reservation for women in civil services!
How will you identify only economic criteria for reservations. This may not be feasible. For ex, a person holding 50 acres of land can hide his property details and get reservation. Therefore, correct method should be to include social as well as economic criteria.

Reservation : Ahem, There are my two cents :

    1. If the govt. recognises that 'creamy layer' amongst OBC doesn't need the benefits of reservation, why isn't such a condition there for SC/ST? Also, it recognises the importance of economic backwardness in reservation so why isn't it also extended to economically weaker members of General Category students?

    2. Our reservation policy is nonuniform and somewhat even irrational. It does have a value in the sense that it tries to do away historical unequalness, but basing it on caste only is wrong.

Interview answer would be on the lines that The policy itself has noble intentions but there are some issues with it namely economic 'creamy layer' criteria should be followed for SC/STs as well, so that the benefits reach the intended audience. Furthermore, reservation may only be allowed only at one level.

Women reservation : As probably the most exploited group(They are the second rate citizens even in the most exploited groups like tribals), there reservation makes sense. They also bring diverse experience and a different perspective to the table.

person cannot hide their wealth in obc case.....have to fill detail form mentioning every property and if it exceeds certain limit...then u come under creamy layer and thus excluded from reservation......so that can be applied for SC/ST also.
