This year's paper was easier than last year. Core to the basics. Cut off will definitely go higher this time. Don't mislead people.

When me and my friends came out of exam hall after first paper we were unanimous that the cut wont cross three figures this time for open. All are aound there and since they are always there in mains and since we have not met anybody with genuime non controversial 110+ our assertion stays. For us veterans it will be 98+-2 to be exact.Chill guys and prepare for mains like tomorow never dies. Present asssrtion of around 107 with market keys is rights because 2-3 questions will definitely go wrong in them which brings us to club 99 . Since 107+ 8=115 not possible this time we have to settle for the lower end of the spectrum. Anybody 99+non controversial will be writing mains as per upsc key.

5. I don't understand ki kisi bhi pichhle saal ke paper ko ye log base kaise maan lete hai cut-off decide karne ke liye....jab UPSC apna paper kisi saal ke base man kar set nhi karti.
6. No PT 360 utility this time.
7. All 115-120 scorer are around 100 this time.
8. Paper 70 se jyada attempt karne waala thaa hi nhi...humand mind limitation..jyada attempt ke chakkar me bahut negative huye hai iss baar, khas kar newbies ke liye...kyuki veterans jyada attempt nhi karte..unless & until IFos attempt.

is baar toh IFOS waalon ne bhi bahut zyada attempt nahi kiya hoga.. Kyunki IFOS waale koi Mangal ya Shani Grah se toh aate nahi hai ki Agar wo Log zyada attempt kar denge toh unke Galat nahi honge...

Galat toh IFOS waalon ke bhi hote hain questions aur achhe khaase galat hote hain.

rest, my friends, serious candidates getting 100-105. these are people who were getting rank in 200-300 in Vajiram tests. while i know that it dosent matter what you get in those tests. but personally i feel that this time UPSC paper was like what coaching walas give. around 60 questions have multiple statements, so that makes it more prone to negative marking.
while there are people who did a lot of guesswork and scoring more than 110 but i think they are not many and some are lying about it. I don't know what will be the intake but minimum it will be around 14000(keeping in mind reduced vacancies)
so i guess it will be around 105+/-2.
