@jaguar I'm all for free speech, but these are basic norms of decency for a public forum. I don't want to get into semantics. This is Universal Sanskriti really. I don't understand exactly why you need to start swearing in front of people you don't know to consider yourself expressed, but surely milder words like 'damn' and 'hell' will get the job done too? And if you ever say 'shucks' or 'gosh darn it',' Bharatiya Sanskriti will personally send you a toffee.
You'v got to follow the rules of the game everywhere. ForumIAS has it own sets of rules and regulations, which is published and is for everyone to see. Everyone abides by those rules be it the moderators, the members or the root himself. How difficult is self-control why cant you hold back yourself from using the words which are (to be honest) not required. Moderators will do their job of following the published rules and there is no need to change the moderation policy.
Um, so either someone shares your views or they are Shiv Sainiks? Ludicrous, that!
My comment was about people spreading filth and a harsh and strict action policy. And you find my views ludicrous that i found someone's view ludicrous
And somehow I feel this debate is becoming @jaguar vs others. While the actual debate was about whether moderation's being upto the mark.
For moderators it's a selfless job, moderating the forum for free, so that others could benefit from a clean forum.
Simultaneously, it seems to me moderators punish/reprimand/warn only those they think are "easy preys". While many commiting/posting objectionable stuff continue to do so.
In the after thoughts, I feel there should be sustained debate about what the policies of forum should be, as we all know no law/policy can be forever. There has to be a time when the Sun of a particular policy sets and new one's rises.

I quite agree with @Shkk . Policy can never be static, it must evolve. But the way I see it, the rules on posting here at the Forum are pretty good. The sun is to shine bright for now. However, Shkk, your point about us warning 'easy preys' I don't buy. It's the world wide web, sir, why would we be partisan to someone who we barely know? And that too, their virtual avatar.
