A UPSC source, however, told HT that this was a misconception that UPSC drew up the syllabus. “The government has the first and the last word,” the source said, cautioning that postponing the exam would delay the entire cycle of recruitment, training and selection.
Hain. The govt doesn't dictate the syllabus. The UPSC doesn't dictate the syllabus. In all this passing the parcel, no wonder aspirants want to dictate the syllabus.
For people who think IIM grads are taking away their opportunity.
Have you heard of IIM-G? A group of IIM grads who have made a name for themselves in the GOI
Do you know their reputation? (Corruption/governance) Stellar. If you know someone senior in service, ask them.
Do you know why it is so? Very simple. They have no lust for money; they could have earned enough elsewhere. They are not used to sitting idle; they act. They have ideas. And, problems only encourage them to come up with even better ones. In short, they are the people India needs. (I am not saying that they are the only ones, by the way. There are many who are just as excellent as they are, if not better. But, if you ranked everyone in order of competence, they'd be right up there.)
Do you know why I wrote this? To make the point that we need good people to run our country. It is much more important than whether or not you or I end up in the service. UPSC has been trying to move in that direction. (Is it any surprise that all IIM grads I know, got close to 200 in their respective interviews this year?) Let me also tell you that they will get through whether there is CSAT, or no CSAT or, even a hindi paper in prelims, or anything else you can possibly imagine. You can protest as much as you want but to quote Victor Hugo - Nothing in the world can stop an idea whose time has come.
When they top the examination, we eventually get to know about them from a variety of sources. Strange is the fact that to know what they have done afterwards, we are told to ask their seniors!
Not strange at all. These people are above joint secy level. Only seniors would know them, If at all. It is quite improbable for a trainee or a SDM (which are our friends) to know them. That is why the advice.

My father is a farmer and he has very different opinion about these so called public servants. Where they have graduated from and which examination have they cleared is certainly immaterial. What matters is the deliverance, which is evidently lacking. Idealism is alright. I am also an idealist and hence the criticism. Never mind. Peace.

How did a simple issue of poor translation in UPSC question papers morph into this loaded, angsty pseudo-political drama? The poetry, the appeals to some hidden, misplaced sense of patriotism -is this an attempt to turn this into some kind of movement? Or is it just a case of too much Bipan Chandra? Hurr durr the urban Indian is an imperialist pig oppressing the rural peasant type thing?
Forgive me for probing, but do you think it's fair to all those people in your life who have worked hard for you to get to where you are only for you to be wasting your energy in misdirected endeavour? You're fighting invisible demons (second time I've had to say that, this week..). You've the resources at your disposal to make a name for yourselves -do so, rather than throwing it all away for five minutes of fame or of notoriety.
Don't resent people for being at a better station in life, or for achievement. The more often you do this, the more it will elude you. Channel all that bile into something productive, perhaps. There's a difference between those who are born into misfortune and are therefore entitled to justice -whom I would resolutely support, and those who confuse setbacks and hurdles for wanton injustice. Mountains and molehills.

ओ हिन्दी के उद्धारको! अगर ब्रिटिश विरासत से इतनी नफ़रत है तो पहले क्रिकेट खेलना और देखना बंद करो, फिर देश भक्ति की बात करना!
o angreji ke sipahi agar tumhe british virashat itna hi pasand hai to tum pahle humare kishanon ke dwara ugaye ann ko roti chawal dal sabji ko khana tyag do..aur pani ki jagah roll paper use karo..phir hamse bat karna..
