Iit / iim walon se itta khauf kyu hain?? Why dont people understand that they are so called cream. They will get through. Nobody asks when an iit ian sweats through 4 years and gets a low paying or no job. When he writes cat, scores 99 % ile in exam and gets rejected for diversity or it job experience. PS - I really think all the people who care for others is just plain xxxxx. If you are so considerate go and sit with them, dont prepare for csat.
actually hindi medium candidates want to have the pre 2010 era back, where minimum number of resources were quite enough to clear the elite exam. Just cram the 4 books , and you were having the entry pass of LBSNAA.....awesome naa :-h :-h =D>
All those who are bashing IIT/IIM guys/girls, understand one thing, they are actually the most hard working people around. My friend who is both an IIT and an IIM grad, told me that in his IIM, out of the top 25 who figured in the Director's Merit List, 17 were from IITs and 24 were from Engg. background, with a sole DU Eco grad girl in top 25. You bring any change in the exam, if they have decided to achieve something, they'll do it. Scrap CSAT or not, it won't make much difference to them. And they'll silently prepare Humanities heavy GS subjects and score more than most of others. Same goes for most of the docs. PS. I've economics background, I'm not from IIT or IIM or AIIMS.
Ther are only 6-8 questions that dont hav any translation. Rest all d questions have.. Best thing would be to give students a choice of d language in which dey want d csat & gs question paper. These guys who are protesting are against the tough standard of english. They also hav a problem with d level of regional language. They want 'FDI' to be written in hinglish in a regional language paper so that they can understand it!!!!.. Is dis a correct way to put forth ur case and love for ur language ??
And if d pattern changes then this step would be totally regressive
@woman@kuldeep_gupta ab bolo Jo bhi bolna hai . kaun nipat jaayega is saal dekhte hain lol
“ A lie can run round the world before the truth has got its boots on."
But here, the trouble is that a lie is running around even after the truth has got its boots on!
Donot worry, truth does not need to run.Why should it run on its small feet when it can fly on its large wings. But only those can see it who see towards the sky. Those who only look downward can see only lies running around them.
@all: chill guys....spare some moments and discuss the prospect of messi winning the most coveted trophy.....CSAT or no CSAT, it is not going to make any difference.
If the arts guys think there is an undue advantage for the engineering and management guys in CSAT, why shouldn't the latter think otherwise with respect to GS (unfortunately i don't belong to both the categories).
Coming to the language part, it is not about english but about any common language for communication as there are All India Services involved. I am ready to accept even if hindi replaces english in this aspect (I am a non hindi speaker), as we should be ready to adapt change.
When you are aspiring for a job, you should be job-ready. There's no point in resisting change until absolutely necessary, as in any case you'll be left with no choice once you join the service. Logically, this forces me to come to a conclusion that all these so called 'genuine concerns' are being raised only by the non-serious aspirants (ironically, the defence they put up is that non-serious aspirants are being selected).
I still fail to understand, where did the ''cream'' and hardwork of IIT/IIM go before 2010,the pre csat era.Everyone knows the dismal performance of the so called creams before csat.I am not bashing anyone but there should be some kind of parity.I am an Arts student and I myself have scored 170 marks in CSAT and I belong to the vernacular medium during my initial schooling. But CSAT is clearly a watered down version of MBA entrances which give blanket benefit to the IIT/IIM grads. It's a clear myth that GS gives advantage to arts student because the level of question is of laxmikant type. You don't require to do stuffs from rajni kothari, nirja gopal jayal, pratap.b mehta type writers. The basic mantra is to mug of few notes or books in both the pre and mains stage.Atleast Chetan Bhagat has enlightened everyone about the mastery in mugging up in the ''cream'' institutions. If 26/1122 are selected from the Hindi medium,it's no less than national shame because in this way it's inching closer to ICS exam.
1. Ok, this 26/1122 thing needs to be clearer. You need to know how many candidates wrote in English, and how many in Hindi. If more people wrote in English, it is only logical that they have a larger share in the final list. An emotional cry of, only 26, is rather meaningless.
2. It is no one's argument that everything is fine. The translations of RC passages need to be spot on (or as close as possible). But, the solution of removing CSAT altogether, or even making it qualifying is akin to throwing out the baby along with the bathwater.
3. On quant, it is pretty simple. And if you can't handle it, a district would be just too much for you anyway.
4. On IIT/IIM grads (being both I am probably biased). No one ever gives any weightage to where you are from and neither he/she should; what is valued is only ability. Imagine how stupid it would be if soccer players were to protest against allowing sprinters to attend soccer trials on grounds of being discriminated. Stupid, right?
Though, i wanted to discuss messi on this thread but it seems that you guys are in no mood to discuss about the gala at marcana; unrelenting arguments from both sides compels me to choose one and play a devil's advocate. 1. To term the cry of hindi medium student as emotional, i think, is somewhat rude. Those who think that 26/1122 is because of relatively larger number of students appearing with english as medium, i suggest them to think again. Ratio of student writing mains with hindi as a medium to that of english as a medium is not as low as 0.0231 (26/1122). so, until you have full statistics you can't term their concerns as meaningless. 2. tell me how making the CSAT paper of qualifying nature amounts to dilution of the level of the exam????on the contrary, i think it will only enhance it's level. i have seen some non-serious players clearing prelims because of CSAT, only to decide later not to write mains exam. P.S- I am an IIT graduate and can easily score 165+ even without devoting a second to it.
