New Delhi: Four metro stations in the heart of Delhi have been closed "indefinitely", the Delhi Police said, as hundreds of students said they want to protest in front of the Prime Minister's residence on Race Course Road.
The stations that have been shut down are Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Race Course Road and Udyog Bhawan.
More than 3,000 students are currently holding a demonstration at Civil Lines in north Delhi against the change in pattern of the Civil Services exams - which makes CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) compulsory for those who want to become officers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other allied services.
Over 100 students have been detained from Tughlaq Road and Aurangzeb Road in central Delhi when they were protesting near the offices of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the body that conducts these tests.

A few of them met Varun Gandhi and Rajnath Singh. The latter allegedly rang up the concerned Minister and a few DoPT officials and asked them that students demand be met. There was this buzz around Mukherjee Nagar that the file was sent to the PM and that the exam notification will be delayed. Nothing happened. A second buzz followed that a new notification will be issued. Again, nothing happened. Hence the protests.
kubh aisa thha kya
Even I dont have any problem now in dealing with those above , but cant claim to be an expert .. Still I believe I could manage Aptitude & English in CSAT ..
Already age relaxation has been granted .. That was definitely an ethical decision . But what these thugs demand now is an utter scorn to the system ..
Come on .. Get back to your studies .. [-(
also considering csat process is now 3 years old.. i wonder why the sudden urge to stamp it out has arisen?
in fact a lot of non mba/non engineer people clear bank po,ssc and other exams is a testimony to the fact that csat pattern is not great wall of china..in fact in my opinion it is a lot better than earlier era of mugging up the details of a specific subject..which was handy to subject graduates, book publishers and coaching(subject) experts...
i wonder who drafted the ridiculous dea of 8 attempts for the exam..the guys must have been to manali..
Why cant they see that if an arts student has to learn and struggle his way through aptitude then similarly a science guy like me has to study Art and Humanities subjects in which they already have experience and knowledge .
Moreover, Basic aptitude and english skills are not much difficult to acquire. Why cant these aspirants work hard and persevere like other candidates rather then demanding undue relaxations and attempts .
good idea.. at least i can try it out in my home state...
