  • I know this is a worn-out topic but... how are people with Maths scaling their scores?
    With good hiking boots and a stout walking stick?

    =))
    You seem to have an idea about this optional

    From what i have seen in previous years marks..i think p1*.7 and p2*.8 would give an approx range..
    Thanks bro. But maybe if we score lower than average, the scaling factor would be something like 0.6 maybe?
    From what i say generally it is 0.7 for p1. for p2 it can vay from .75 to .8 ..0.6 becomes too less in my opinion and very unfair..!

    @Ging7 4 figure final score
    @sananthan Exit polls have usually been quite off the mark. Let us hope we are better at it What about you? How many 'seats' are you winning?

    ~695(with strict marking) + David sir ka prasad
    @sananthan How many did you attempt in GS 1, 2, 3. ?
  • @sananthan How many did you attempt in GS 1, 2, 3. ?
    Yes, if not many people are writing how much they are expecting, at least write this. Let me start with my awesome attempts
    GS1 - 17
    GS2 - 16
    GS3 - 18
    GS4 - 24 \m/

    @Dreamer14 Let's hope bhai. Maybe then I will sneak into a good service ;)
  • I am expecting around ~695 in the mains and no idea what Mr. Manbir singh would be giving. Let me assume it 165
    so total would be 695+165=860.
    I think this score should get me some service.

    Do you really think that they calculate average marks and then fix the scaling factor for various types of marks?? It is impossible. They first of all would give raw marks by giving you 8/10 for a correct answer and finally a moderation of 15-20 marks is done. on whole batch of papers.
    This raw marks is not exactly the correct attempt marks rather a reduced score. If a candidate has scored 210 correct attempt then his raw marks would be say 173 by giving marks in a reduced manner for each question and finally inter paper moderation is done say final score would be 155. You are so mistaken by this avg marks and many scaling factors. This can never happen. There is no scaling factor here.
  • @abcdcandance Let's forget about how we end up getting what we get. How much can somebody who has given a correct attempt of 150-160 in P1, 210 is P2 expect? At the end of the day, that's all that matters, no?
    BTW what were your attempts like?

    If you correct attempts are as given, you will as per my understanding score 98 in paper 1 and 145 in paper 2.
    My attempts correct were 240 in paper 1 and 110 in paper 2.
    So my marks will be roughly: 175 in paper 1 and 68 in paper 2 ..thus in total we are coming at equal level ;)

    Back to square one I guess
