  • 1. Optimistic estimate! :D

    810 + 200 = 1010
    rank range: below 10
expected result - IAS with full regal style! =P~ (*)

    2. Realistic estimate! :)

    760 + 180 = 940
    rank range: below 50
expected result - IAS with zero style! :|

    3. Pessimistic estimate! :-w

    710 + 165 = 875
    rank range: below 200
expected result - IPS with a zindabad for 3rd attempt- 2014 prelims!! :-L
I can now say friends and relatives that I know an IAS officer :D (online at least)
oh! thanks bro! and even I can tell the same about you to my relatives! :)
  • In one hour from now, there will be exactly one month left for the curtains to fall on CSE-2013 :D
  • and btw 875 isn't an arbitrary figure

    1) mean method:
analysing previous yrs' scores esp. last yr's i found that
    mean of mains marks (700-1000)=850
    mean of intvw marks (90-240)=165
    mean of mains+mean of intvw=850+165=1015; ias cutoff = 1013

    likewise this yr
    mean of mains marks (600-820)=710
    mean of intvw marks (80-220)=150
mean of mains + mean of intvw = 710+150=860

    2) %age method
    1013/2300=891/2025

    now, taking mean of method 1 + method 2 = 860+890/2=875

    :D :D :D
  • This thread is a life saver! btw, any idea on number of IAS vacancies and on overall number of GEN vacancies?

Is this insider info or has the UPSC officially declared this number somewhere?
  • @spirate- it was confirmed in an RTI disclosure. This is also how we know there will be 1200 seats this time around.

  • My optimistic estimate = your pessimistic estimate.
Bhai why are u being humble and modest on the forum?!
After that conversation we had over dinner after your interview, I am worried when people like u are competing, I don't know where I would finally land up!! :-S
