Thats what i have heard and asked.. unanimously 568 is being told to me bcoz of low marks in ethics.. not many people im being told have scored more than 70
I second this 568 cut off. There should not be any big surprise as 700:2000 = 612.5:1750 and then effect of GS paper instead of optional.
To support this I have gathered some stats which is attached in the excel below.
54 students had scored more than 260 in GS last year whereas 86 students had scored more than 260 in Optional I and 102 in Optional II.
This further proves that scores in optional were comparably higher than GS. And that pulls the cut off south.
A look at the stats in the sheet above will throw more light on the marks expected (in relation to the marks last year).
Further on sheet 2 real data of last year including median, average, max & min is given.
Then on sheet 3 an analysis and estimate of 2013 has been done on the basis of 2012 marks.

guys i felt that those people who were facing interviews for the first time were asked easier questions and those who are already in service are getting tough interview sessions. This is based on my interaction with many people already in service ,even the person who went just before me was an IRS officer and told me on the next day that it was totally a stress interview and very difficult and factual questions were asked whereas in my case the board was very cordial and asked very general questions. Is this true or just my imagination?
You have obviously not heard of the "bamboo" kid :P Search for "bamboo" and you will know what I mean. But yes, I'm myself a 1st timer and got it easy. Let's hope it translates into good marks as well [-O<
@all I've heard that there are some brownie points in the interview for Candidates who are young/candidates who have made it in there first attempt ?can anyone throw some light on this?
