  • @sananthan even I had the same experience with board.Didn't knew when time ended. But faced 2,3 difficult and stressful questions
When was yours bro? They asked me simple questions I could have answered without preparation. Little disappointed, actually

  • dear seniors,
i had my interview on 28th, chhattr singh board

the board was very cordial. interestingly almost all my questions were opinion based. my views were countered many times and i tried to justify. don't know whether the board members were satisfied. around 4 factual questions were asked out of which i could answer only one.

a blunder happened when i was stopped midway through an answer when i had just said that if i don't get into civil services i might end up a cynic. the members contradicted me and i somehow did not have the opportunity to clarify. (kindly tell how much impact this might have).

yet the interview felt as if it was a flow of conversation and totally stress free. later i came to know that it had lasted for 40-50 minutes, though it didn't seem long to me. i however felt that even though it was stress free, there was much more that i wanted to say and couldn't. i didn't feel like my interview was over. in fact i even didn't leave for a long time, didn't feel like it.

40-50 minutes also gave a feeling that this means less marks for the board didn't find qualities they needed.

i will post the transcript soon, but i request seniors to tell if this feeling is felt by others as well and what to expect in terms of marks in such a stress free, free flowing conversational interview that lasts so long. i will be highly obliged. thanks
Dont worry bro.. thats not a 'blunder' at all...
thanks... some more insight about feelings of other aspirants please...

One guy hit the nail on the head when he said 'I felt World Cup final mein gully cricket khila rahe thay.' I felt the same way about my interview.

I'll surely post Bro.. Right now I'm on cell phone and can't type lengthy transcripts. But in a few days will surely post here.. But the interview was nothing great as per my standard.. This guy Vinay Mittal was not at all interested in conducting interview.. He appeared lost, in the sense he seemed as if to tell me "With 40 years of experience in the civil service and serving as the rail board chairman why should I sit through this silly interview?!?! " He was frequently interrupting me and as soon as the 1st 10 mins of interview was over he wanted to wrap it up asap and wanted to send me out. Apart from him all other members were fully cordial and friendly..

Donot worry too much about it.....
Chairman is responsible for smoothly conducting interview of all candidates and it is natural that he will concerned about time , especially when he has eaten up 10 mins as avg interview time is about 20-25 mins now

Other panel members,i think , come only for a few days and may not be fully aware of importance of time for all candidates
  • @sananthan mine was on 30th april 2nd half, I would share my transcript soon.
  • @rookie Even Mittal had a stopwatch while interviewing me. He was constantly keeping track of time. Disinterestedness of chairman is because of repetitive nature his work(interviewing).

He shouldn't have joined UPSC in that case! Anyway, others have mentioned that Vinay Mittal is actually a cordial guy and very friendly.
