  • Sir abhi bhi gs1 geography section, gs3 economics and agriculture se pareshan hu, samajh nhi aata ki inhe kese cover kiya jay, ki in sections k questions na chhute, like a question of saving rate ,exam me aane se pehle nhi pata tha ye hota kya h,aur is saal bhi like super market aur agricultural marketing.
Ncert+gc lenge for geo.. do multiple revisions.. that's only feasible solution IMO

Eco k notes pkd lo kisi institute k jese vaji ya sriram etc k.. sb to cover khi nhi hoga ..But reasonable ho jata h.. baki newspaper pro regular

Bouncer questions koi nhi pd k jata.. that's either common sense or tukka or leave type questions.. no solution for those IMO :)
    Thanks a lot sir

Make short notes.. especially for gc leonge.. 10:1 compression ratio atleast.. merely keywords centred notes..

For polity ..Make short tabular notes of few comparative things across chapters.. plus write down EXCEPTIONAL things of any chapter on the start of the chapter and keep revising them whenever u open any chapter.. exceptional means ex kisi ek conditional body ka term alag ho ya post retirement appointment possible ho ya special process of removal etc kind stuff.. baaki cases or articles ko likh lo chart pe ek jagah jitne ho ske or ratto regularly.. (my learning from top scorers of subject)

Keep revising notes keep practicing ..Repeat.. :)

For the Geo thing, I think you'll find the Mrunal geo videos helpful. The content is from GC Leong itself and its easier to revise when someone is saying it out. I have geo optional but those videos helped me a lot as well
  • Very good initiative !

Is there any other source for studying environment and biodiversity static portion other than shankar environment ?
  • What can u say about pre ?
Any coaching never covered edible oil issue ..we need to cover more ??
Any suggestion what will have more weightage in 2019 pre ?
Like this year they are now asked core economics which according to many were optional level..
R they moving to more optional level questions ?
Like capital output ratio question is a theory concept in economics ..
This yr they may ask high level questions from environment ...
What must b the sources apart from basic books ?

General Studies (Mains) Booklist / Material list for all the freshers. [Primary References for static portion]

    GS1:

    • Indian culture will cover the salient aspects of Art Forms, literature and Architecture from ancient to modern times.

Ncert 11th and 12th Fine Arts + Heritage.
    Nitin singhania's book
Nitin Sangwan's notes "or" Spectrum's book on culture.
Ncert books for ancient and Medieval India.

    • Modern Indian history from about the middle of the eighteenth century until the present- significant events, personalities, issues.

    Ncert 8th, 12th (Theme 3)
Spectrum's Modern India or Nitin Sangwan's notes

    • The Freedom Struggle — its various stages and important contributors/contributions from different parts of the country.

    Spectrum's book on personalities

    • Post-independence consolidation and reorganization within the country.

    Vision IAS pdf.

    • History of the world will include events from 18th century such as industrial revolution, world wars, redrawal of national boundaries, colonization, decolonization, political philosophies like communism, capitalism, socialism etc.— their forms and effect on the society.

    Ncert 9th, 10th, 11th
Vision IAS pdf (more than enough)
    Use youtube for better understanding.

    • Salient features of Indian Society, Diversity of India.

    Ncert Sociology books.

    • Role of women and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems and their remedies.
    • Effects of globalization on Indian society.
    • Social empowerment, communalism, regionalism & secularism.

For basic understanding, refer Vision IAS notes. However, i would recommend you to google about these things, understand and make your own notes. Try to link these with GS2 also. Most of the questions will be current affairs oriented for these topics.

    • Salient features of world’s physical geography.
    • Important Geophysical phenomena such as earthquakes, Tsunami, Volcanic activity, cyclone etc., geographical features and their location-changes in critical geographical features (including water-bodies and ice-caps) and in flora and fauna and the effects of
    such changes.

Ncert 11th (Fundamentals of World physical geo and India physical environment)
I would suggest you to skip GC Leong and Consider reading Majid Hussain for World Physical geography. It's worth it and covers exhaustively. Use youtube generously, it helps to consolidate concepts.

    • Distribution of key natural resources across the world (including South Asia and the Indian sub-continent); factors responsible for the location of primary, secondary, and tertiary sector industries in various parts of the world (including India).

Ncert 12th Geography will help you get the basics but the questions asked under this are very dynamic. It may be related to GS2 or GS3 also.
Notes from the internet, covering CA adequately and trying to establish links with GS2 and 3 will help you.
