Can anyone tell me How important 9.1 human genetics and 9.2 Mandelian Genetics are ? Though I have read it but will it do if we just practice past year questions (basically only Twin Method )
It will also be helpful if someone can tell which are the topics to be prioritized
2. Discuss the impact of urbanization and feminist movement on family.
The traditional family was characterized by joint family, patriarchy, self sufficiency, primacy of family and lack of individuality. Urbanization has brought disruption in the traditional family structure and it's functioning through the administrative, economic and ideological forces such as capitalism, liberalism and equality.Liberalism abolished the privileges and disabilities based on birth, and the contract entered by individual through free will is the basis of the society. Rationalism questioned the sacrosanct nature of culture and tradition. New criminal and civil codes govern the people in place of social control practiced by families. The impact can be observed in all aspects of the society. The status of women is equal to man in urban family and she has independence in making decision an pursuing interests. Education is now imparted in schools unlike ancient times when family was responsible for education of children. Different people of same family work in different professions and each individual is free to make his decisions even if it does not conform to family traditions. The size of families has decreased due to disorganization and also there has been increase in divorce rates with women asking for equal treatment. Feminist movements have been against the traditional family structure where women faced various disabilities such as lower status in comparison to men, economic dependence on men, lack of decision making power, ignorance of their potential, discouraging working women and confining their role to child rearing. Even if they worked, it was accorded supplementary status. Feminist movements highlighted these issue and look to grant more equality and indepence to women in all fields. Impact can be seen in rising participation of women in labour, more decision making powers and joint consultation with men at homes, financial independence. There have been growing concerns that working of women will leave children underdeveloped but studies has shown that there has been no psychological problem in these children. In contrary the satisfaction of work especially more satisfying ones leads to happy women who feel more obliged to their children in comparison to women who do trivial works. There have been increase in divorce rate as women assert their rights in relationships. Though males have been reluctant to changes, but feminist movements have been successful in growth of rights of women and will continue to do so.
bro use some definitions .... like how and what mariage means... functions of marriage but don't write like economic, child rearing, co-habitation etc. write them along with how fortes focus on co-haboation.. murdock on economci .. though it fulfils these..
but some scholars like brown focus on legitimacy etc.. so our society still not accepting it as legitimate while western societies are accepting.. so again take a cultural relativist perspective and say diff culture have diff norms and understanidng them from their own view point is important..
not very perfectly answered as i have not revised ... but structure will be like this.. with few more definition aspects like of westermarck gough, structuralist view of leach etc.

but some scholars like brown focus on legitimacy etc.. so our society still not accepting it as legitimate while western societies are accepting.. so again take a cultural relativist perspective and say diff culture have diff norms and understanidng them from their own view point is important..
