Its just an excuse !! Wen you all were really so affected and knew that most of you will fail, then why did u people come on roads to protest ? U had enough communication technology to go and pose with karunanidhi for group photo . But no time to add ur name to PIL ? No time to protest ? Everythng was available...but thing is that you all are fattu. Btw you can try. Get grace marks.act cheap. Delhi hd so much pollution..study got affected...give some grace marks to them also !! But mind it... wen u hd good chance then u cud nt do nythng. Ab kuch ukhad nhi paoge !! I m out of all this chennai affair !!
Panditji.. I dunno who posed with whom.. I was affected.. N dat much I kno.. I did not choose to leave Chennai cuz I could not move with books.. We had to hav food made outa water dat was mixed with flood water for more Dan a week.. Adjust with no power for 3 days n no connectivity for 5 days.. So yes I agree der were areas that were less affected.. But if seeking parity is cheap... Den reservation is cheap.. Evry obc sc st candidate here who is utilising the benefit is cheap.. Will u say dat?? No right? I wudnt.. M sure u wud also fight if u wer in our plight.. Wat ever rest of the wrld might think !
While I do understand the plight of the chennai aspirants we need to understand that mains is a year long preparation process. So the only grounds on which the exam could have been postponed was if UPSC themselves admitted to being unable to hold exams on time. So please let's bury the matter here. Otherwise this may give rise to sectarian clashes.
@all Nature was at its best...cruel...many books and even revision notes of aspirants were completely washed out...some of my friends became a clean slate as in Gajini movie...all that has put some (*) aspirants at a disadvantage. i can pity their plight and feel sorry..but i see no point in asking for a postponement and lenient treatment for the same...that is cowardice...this is a competition where 100 things may go wrong..am a fellow Tamilian and a Chennaiite...Quaid e milleth centre became normal in some days...during mains time vital roads and power were restored...in a war we cant complain i lost sleep due to mosquito bite...its how we keep ourselves cheerful under stressful conditions and show courage and fortitude..which is what this exam is itself about as far as my understanding goes...many aspirants wasted time asking a postponement...many from other areas supported Chennai cause and opened many threads during crucial revision time...but upsc gave a damn...it is always the case...even when csat protest was looming...many people closed their books(including me) and waited for something to happen...but exam occurred on time..and people who didn't succumb to the magnanimity of situation ultimately triumphed .i reserved my comment for mains to get over....cos i feared you guys might scold me ..i being a mod closed down some threads and gave warnings in disguise to divert..am not being arrogant or finding faults...but telling the reality on face with a sense of altruism..if you want to argue or question my wisdom you are welcome..but please remember it won't serve any purpose for any of us..after all i love my Forumans...and which is why am writing this now..
@Sleeplessnights_89 you are right bro, but fake campaigns of postponement were run till the last day, which affected our studies. We were calling upsc, dopt, tweeting, retweeting while none of chennaites was ready to be a locus standi in a PIL. Each and everyone of them was prepared for the exam it seems. They just wasted our time here.

bro campaign was true to an extent...someone from Chennai actually filed a PIL for postponement in high court...but judge refused...but the cause finding favours among other states in a competition is not advisable...it is a heartless process...the moment you turn emotional...other foxes will grab it.... you can empathise, feel pity and contribute for the whole other people..not for aspirants difficult but practical...

man i heard that madras high court quashed the pil for postponement. very sad and disheartening to see that even at the time of crisis the government could not stand by our brothers and sisters.
on the other hand i heard some amazing stories of voluntary efforts by fellow countrymen. kudos you all.

this thread will not get any hate speech but some pity for your ignorance.
The only way parity could have been ensured would have been with postponement.
All other things are whimsical solutions in my opinion.
