Being from non-science background, I feel very offended when anti-csat guys claim that reasoning and comprehension skills are the sole preserve of students from science background!

Bhaiya system badal chuka hain. No more DM is expected to use his discretionary powers for developmental works. Now he is expected to manage and administer with planning transferred into ambit of third level of governance. Thats why committees go on to recommend lateral entry of Engineers, Doctors and MBAs.
Take for example 5 roads are to be repaired of 10 roads in bad condition. Municipal body will make the choice which those 5 roads will be. People have been empowered to decide what they want and how they want.
DM acts as a facilitator now not as a Messiah. Certainly he need to have the aptitude, logical reasoning and communication skill to discharge his duties efficiently. This thought went into introduction of CSAT which retrograde thinkers pulled down.
Kya yaar kitaabi baatein padh liye ho bas.Lateral entry kis position ke liye hoti hai pata bhi hai?secy ya joint secy level pe lateral entry ki baat hoti hai.DM level pe nhi.jaa ke kisi gaon me dekho DM ka role.Abhi bhi wo messeaih hi hai .Isi rural-urban divide ke kaaran hi to csat hataya gaya hai.pub ad ki kitab me ek bahut badhiya line hai ki"what eyes donot see heart doesnot grieve about".Samajh gaye babua.

These people make assumptions that all engineers, doctors and mba are elite.
Bhai humare roots bhi gao ke hain aur jo bhi bane hain apni mehnat se so when you all say ki we took unnecessary advantage then whats wrong at it.
After all we all stood at same level and we surpassed and then you all say to bring us down to your level for UPSC exam. Waah!! I rest my case. Aur biin nahi baja sakta :P
let them protest,let them get lathi charged,let them land in prison cells,let them get the pattern changed,let them demand whatever they demand...we will clear any exam which demands merit,we will sit in comfort and study instead of doing rallies and morchas,because winning is a habit which we inculcated since school days.ALL THE BEST.my final post.

CSAT was illegal(a classic case of nepotism-big boy circle) in the entire history of UPSC. Accept the fact that you are mediocre to the core(best only for SSC) but somehow want backdoor entry into civils.
Please analyse the result of Rank 1 to 10 at least for last 10 years and everyone will realise what is the potential of engineers from non IIT-NIT colleges.
I feel ek below average private engineering college ka unemployable engineer hone se behtar hai tamizh/hindi/gujarati language mein proficient hona. Moreover, IITians don't consider such products as engineers. And they being the best technology brains we have to accept their verdict. So lets not make mockery of people who could not get an opportunity to study in english-medium schools and colleges.
Jinke ghar khud shishe ke ho unhe kahin aur patthar nahi marna chahiye. First we should see our own credential and then make mockery of people from vernacular medium.
Most of the people especially hindi coaching walas who are shedding tears for hindi medium students get their children educated in top English medium schools! Why not Hindi medium schools?
