main kisi bhi tarah ki cheating and corruption ke khilaf hu... isse deserving students ko loss hota hai.. main bhi victim raha hu iss system ka.... maine bhi BPC cheating wali pics dekhne ke baad socha tha ki kyun main Bihar ka exam dene gaya... meri problem saare Bihar ko galiyane se hai..
iss tarah ki stereotyping kya sahi hai... agar tumhe lagta hai ki sahi hai to tum apne borrowed mentality ke saath khush raho...
aur upar dekhne ke baad hi wapas aaya hu iss UPSC ke dangal mein... anyways thanks for your enlightened comments.. once again ^:)^ ^:)^ for your inferences ...
@Bankelal_hehe , @Dolphin : Perhaps another perspective might help here. True, these things are not unique to Bihar, but it is EQUALLY true that these can't be condoned on any ground whatsoever. The argument that these activities happened in any corner of our country itself is shameful. The problem of people here, at least the progressive ones, is that Bihar is no longer considered a progressive society any more and it is frustrating. It is this progressive worldview itself that makes us look up or "upar dekhiye janab" to the modern and desirable traits from other places. Supreme court's interepreatation of the Right to Equality might give some institutional weightage to my comment, where she declared that just because a wrong has been committed benefitting some person doesn't entitle a similarly placed ( doctrine of equitable differentia) person to demand the same wrong to be done for his favor as well. Stretching this judgement a little farther it would be better to assume that just because media or people chose to give more attention to Bihar case compared to other states' case doesn't make it right for us forgo our responsibility.
A practical problem that compounds news about bihar is that modern and progressive news very rarely come from here, reenforcing the vicious circle of image-buildup of this state.
let me state at onset that i spent first 20 years of my life in bihar,and some of best people are from bihar,till now.
the so called cheating in exams are nothing new to state,they have been in practice since a very long time. also,this practice is also followed in other states,but bihar gets the highlights,partly because it leads the pack,partly because no effort has been made to curb the practice,and partly because of the so called student politics in the state.
a few days back,some students giving class 12 exams,had boarded the ac coach of Amritsar mail,without tickets,and were forcibly taking up the seats.when the passengers protested,they beat them up all,,snatched women's jewellery at knife point,and finally when they departed,they threw stones at the glass windows. in fact they completely destroyed the windows of three ac coaches,even hurting children and old people. one of my neighbors,a 72 year old man,was slapped by some 18+ aged guys.
incidentally i had witnessed such incidents twice in last 10 years myself.
how can people expect a goodwill for bihar after such incident?
agreed that,many guys from bihar are good and talented,but the fact remains that they remain few,majority of the government schools,specially in interior towns,are in shambles. education is just a degree at such places,which is more often brought by a price,internal connection or by using brute force.this practice has been going on from long time.and the local conditions encourage such things.
once,when the patna high court,instructed the government to deal strictly exam mal practices,the pass percentage was as low as 15%(1996).now, we can well imagine the situation!!!
also,bihar's governance was pathetic during last 20 years or so,the entire system reeked of corruption,dadagiri and inefficiency.only when nitish kumar came at helm,he took some efforts to clean up the state,with some good results.
it is unfair to ridicule every bihari for such reasons,but sadly it is a fact remains that despite a lot of guys making it to the best exams of the nation,a far more lot of students are horrible. how else can you explain the incident of students carrying knifes and desi revolvers for exams and rampaging train services every year?
अरे भाई क्यूँ बिहार को दोष दे रहे हो.... कम से कम बिहार में नक़ल इसलिए हो रही है कि वहां पेपर आउट नही हुए.. यहाँ राजस्थान में तो नक़ल की जरुरत ही नहीं पड़ रही किसी भी बोर्ड और यूनिवर्सिटी परीक्षा में क्यूंकि एक दिन पहले ही पेपर बाहर आ रहे हैं ....
Now i know why they didn't ask any questions related to polity, law or culture! Why ask for useless things like constitution and law in bihar, when you are not going to use it ever. Better ask the date on which a bill was passed or ask the per person forest cover in hectare.
Felt like a total waste of my day there. A Friend warned me NOT to go, but Naive me!
Anyhow, this is the first time i am writing any comment without fearing that someone might find it "grossly offensive" and i might be put behind bars. Judiciary, even though not representatives of people, seem like the only good thing left in govt of india today.

haryana is not in bihar.it is a separate state....some people may consider haryana as some place in bihar. Bcoz they remain obsessed with ridiculing bihar.....corruption is not localized only in bihar
