word limit still 200 words but no. of questions reduced to 20 + paper was very general. This can only mena that UPSC wants to test your "aptitude" in polity/governance related matters. no doubt people will write same points BUT how you elaborate your points, link current affairs with static portions of theory and add YOUR ANALYSIS/VIEWS in the answer will decide whether you get 3 marks or 4 marks or 5 marks.

i slept yesterday after disastrous essay paper and gave today's exam without even opening a book overnight.... :P Attempted 23 in GS1..with some 17-18 proper answers... GS2 it was all 20, but qualitywise some 14-15...
South china sea given n then aksed india china bilateral relations.....apart fton vietnam issue i was nt able to think any other matter......3 quesn written very less tht to vaguely...3 written vaugely....rest ok...
For south China question i wrote about Vietnam, India's own boundary dispute, need to adopt asean's code of conduct on south china sea, since there was mention of air as well so wrote a line about ADIZ.

Dont worry... they are never disclosed.. its jus people who have no work spread lies like there is penalty for overshootin n all that.... All you get is Final Total Marks of the paper... chill maar

I undershot by 50 words in most of the answers
