Why Meghalaya is in the very high risk zone for earthquakes though its part of the plateau?

    TIA!
    :-?

because its location near the faul line s . In case of decan plateu the distance is much more .
Isolated from the main plateu by gaps and not so solid aluvial plain of ganga bramhaputra .
High risk because of more rains that increases the changes of land slides .
    any thing else ?
  • @teddy, @all

In 2013 prelims there was a question in which one statement was

Natural gas occurs in Gondwana beds.

    This statement was false.

I referred to geology of India wiki page where Indian Geology has been divided into Deccan traps, Gondwana and Vindhya. From there I did not understand anything as to how this knowledge can be used to identify minerals, if it can be. Can you explain this and also what else about India can be known from this.
  • Also please comment on economic importance of Dharwar (one statement was that it is known for pet)roleum reserves which was false
