@somestuff R u working? Presently I am going through my graduation subjects, next on my work experience and then I will come to home state. As I am not having complete knowledge of AP right now, I will start giving my opinion from next week.
Left my job sometime back. I did my engg. in ECE. I need to read a lot on this @-)
I took an year long sabbatical from my job and joined back after the mains. I am not from Hyderabad as such but have been working in Hyderabad since 2010 excluding the sabbatical period. My knowledge about AP is quite dismal
Anyways, it will be good if atleast the people living in the Hitech city area could meet up.
Guys, I peeked into Karnataka preparation thread and read that those guys have 10 days free accommodation in Karnataka bhavan. Do we have something similar from Andhra Bhavan?

Great, I think even our govt should encourage us in a similar way. I think if we contact the authorities, we can at least have a subsidized accommodation.
Is there any good book about AP(history, geo, economy, polity etc) all in a single book?
My suggestion is that we should not waste much time in reading AP History. They may ask only basic questions. But we need to prepare well about native districts. Also for those from Hyderabad, they need to know about problems of the city and any probable solutions. Ex. Metro can reduce traffic congestion, which is already in construction.
If we were asked to mention the most pressing issues facing Hyderabad, I would say this in no particular order 1. Traffic congestion and ensuing pollution 2. Revenue loss due to reduced transactions 3. Unequal distribution of water 4. Terrorist attacks 5. Communal violence 6. Reduced greenery 7. Poor performance of PWD 8. Mismatch of data between Revenue department, Survey department, Registration department Folks from Hyderabad please contribute or we could have a detailed discussion on any of the above.

I would also mention the confusion and the climate of uncertainnity caused because of the bifurcation of the state.
Why don't we start with traffic issue as we are all familiar with it? Do you think that Metro would help reduce traffic? Would congestion charge at select points help even distribution of traffic? What is the scope of RTC buses? How do we wean away people from private vehicle? Too many question marks in this post :P

To be somewhat new about the problems in Hyderabad, we may say about the increasing pollution levels and decreasing the tree cover in the city. There were many gardens(bhag in Hindi/Urdu) in Hyderabad earlier like basheer bhag, kundan bhag, kishan bhag etc. But now, they were all removed.
