Folks We may have a little more than a month (17th, going by the report in today's Hindu paper) for interview preparation. So pour in all your tips/views on any issues concerning AP and Hyderabad/information about mock interview sessions/experience in previous interviews. If possible, maybe we could form small groups for discussion.
@Pink_Floyd, @Vamshi_krish, @Rahul_upsc1, @kshtjsnghl guys please join the discussion Let me start. Regarding mock interviews, I have only called up Analog in Domalguda. The guy told me that some mocks were already going on and in the next week, they will start new sessions.
Issues in AP 1. Telangana - history of the movement/support or not/challenges facing each of the regions after bifurcation/demand for declaring as national, certain projects like Pranahita-Chevella/impact on other autonomy movements/resource mobilization
2. Impact due to hailstorm and recent cyclones - measures in AP to support farmers suffering from geographical disasters
3. Decentralized development of urban areas (in the context of new capital for Seemandhra) - good or bad?
4. Success of SHGs in AP
BTW it would be nice to write something about ourselves. I'm from Hyderabad. This is my first attempt and my optional is Mathematics.
1. Why has Hyderabad come up as a centre for services industry? 2. Greyhounds (related to naxalism) + This time Ashok Chakra awardee is from AP. 2.( Related to SHGs question above) Status of microfinance.
Rahul from Hyderabad with Public Administration as optional. Attended a session in Narayana SriChaitanya IAS academy, they told that mocks will start from 20th. Also planning to attend at Analog IAS.
Let us prepare on all the above topics and adding some more to it. Then, if at-least 5 members are from Hyd, we can meet some where and discuss all of them in detail.
Let me begin on the topic - Issues facing the state post-bifurcation Power - This is not an issue for Coastal Andhra but for Rayalaseema and Telangana. In the case of Telangana, Pranahita-Chevella project has to be declared as national project. Only then can this power-hungry project be viable. There could be use of power from central pool to meet deficit in Telangana. De-silting of some projects in Adilabad, Nizamabad should also to be undertaken. Revenue - With Hyderabad and RR district being important sources for revenue, it will be difficult for Seemandhra to generate adequate revenue. The notion of sharing revenue of Hyderabad has been shot down by constitutional experts. Manpower division - The current plan is to have a committee to look into division of state-cadre employees and another to look at All-India service employees. There are demands from sections in Telangana to allow the option of choosing between Telangana and AP only on basis of native district. If this is the case, some of the departments don't have adequate number of employees from Telangana. Separate Captial - There is emerging consensus that, after the lessons learnt from concentration of resources in Hyderabad, there has to be decentralized development in Seemandhra. But to what extent is this feasible? Cost of developing infrastructure for and connecting all the new "capitals" will be too much to bear for the residual state. Displacement of tribals (I'm not too sure about this topics - perhaps somebody else could shed some light on this) - Merger of five mandals of Khammam with Seemandhra to ensure facilitation of construction of Polavaram will result in displacement of 2 lakh adivasis Law and Order - Coastal Andhra has insurgency areas but there are no provisions for training of elite forces in Seemandhra Miscellaneous - Triplicating all government files :P
It would be nice if somebody could add the status of power, water in Rayalaseema region and how it will be affected. Please correct me wherever I have been wrong.
