Bro, u can't rely on any random info, if some one writes well he will be awarded marks.. But yes expecting very high marks in pub ad can be very discouraging after result..
its not about very high marks, infact I can never imagine something around 320 in pub ad, but anyone who performed decently must get around 280, if that is not the case than what can we do in pub ad to get into IAS, or even any all indian service it seems an impossible task if even with attempting all questions decently we can't get 280. in optionals like sociaology, political sciencne, even mediocre first attempters get 260-280..
1. Don't believe any (fake) insider info. No one can predict final trends as final marks are always different from RAW marks one gets in paper in upsc.
2. Though past 4 5 yrs had made thinking of 310+ in pub adm an utopia one should not be pessimistic. It's all in upsc hand and a game of maximum-minimum continuum it decides for any optional. 2012 tak pub adm was way ahead of all optional.
3. Good vs bad performance can only be within pub adm subject. You can't compare it with any optional.
4. Only viable alternative is to pray to God that pub adm be brought parity to other optional. OR ONE SHOULD LEAVE THIS AND CHOOSE ANY OPTIONAL WHICH S/HE FEELS MORE REMUNERATIVE.

I completely agree with both of u.. Again I say that if someone writes well then he will definitely score good marks may be above 280..but i still have pub ad phobia.. It causes lot of fear and anxiety.. Even after giving a decent attempt I am not that confident..i wonder what extra thing I can produce in paper when questions are so general and sometimes very subjective also..Our selection for interview depends on our optional performance.. Let's hope for the best..
I do not know what my fate will be in next few days but m pretty confident that public admin will perform very well this time..may be avg. marks will shoot to 270s and highest in 300s for best players.
We all have freedom to expect above possibility or get bogged down by random news..choice will be our's only and i have choosen the former.
