  • Staying positive is the key here. I urge everyone to prepare for the mains regardless of their marks. It's the ultimate thing. One needs to nail mains to get into services. Prelims alone would not suffice.
At the same time I would ask all the person below 110 to keep in mind that their mains birth is not yet confirmed. And odds are not in favour. This is to avoid the distressed feeling if one fails the prelims on the reult's day.
I myself getting 112 from shankars key with couple of controvercial questions. And I know my situation is as vulnerable as a person scoring 100, because losing by 0.33 marks is as bad as losing by 12.33 marks.
But trying my best to cover my optional.
Don't believe in any kind of internet polls brother. They are as unscientific as they can be. A better sense of cutoff can be gauged from the candidates mood immediately after writing the exam and not after tallying answer from the keys. I remember in 2015 the general mood was that the paper was somewhat easy and direct and the cutoff should be around 112 ( Right after paper-1 even before people glanced at the answer keys) and the final cutoff was around 107. This year the mood after paper 1 was that this was an unconventional paper and cutoff won't breach 105. So keep working hard and keep preparing.
    All the best.
    Very true.

    Beautiful

  • Whose woods these are I think I know.
    His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Frost wrote this gem long back. And yet no matter how many times one has read this before, it still evokes the same set of emotions. Atleast in me.
my fav too man specially these lines

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep

its like they have a life of their own
  • Let me pass on the advice given to the world by a great intellectual, someone who cared about those he shared his time on earth with and also for those who were to come after he was long gone..Believe and internalise his words for he isnt petty like most people you'll encounter otherwise (especially on this forum) and he genuinely cared..

Janaab Allama Iqbal instructs you to adopt the following attitude for to help you deal with uncertainty of "am I in with this score or out" and extreme stress that unfolding of the last 11 days of events lead you to:

Batil se dabne vaale ai Aasman Nahi ham

Sau baar kar chuka hai tu imtihan hamara

    (Batil- falsehood or untrue)

Further, Lakhnavi ji's words are golden and let us all think this way:

Aata hai jo tufan aane de Kashti Ka Khuda Khud Hafiz hai

Mumkin hai ki uthi Lehron mein behta hua sahil aa jaa.e

But I am convinced that uthi lehro se sahil ki journey requires our resolute effort. This depressive and uncertain wave must be ridden with such a killer attitude that we channel every inch of our mindspace to effective studying.

Ending this very very long post with Jigar Moradabadi ji's words

Jo Tufaano mein palte ja rahe hai

Vahi duniya badalte ja rahe hai

Control your mind. Put up a stellar fight. Don't ask any person for any help in terms of reassuring asnwers or comfort. NO. Work hard and watch how magic happens...sooner (inshallah) if not later.

In the weak moments in the coming month, remember the wise words of Wahidi sa'ab..

Kisi ko kaise bataein zaruratein apni

madad mile na mile aabru to jaati hai
    Too good , dear.

  • Lovely thread. Keep it going.
@Kejriwal trying coming here and see what people will do to you :joy:
  • bahut dino ke baad forum pe ek achcha thread dekhne ko mila, jispe sabhi comments valuable hain aur sabhi se kuch seekhne ko milta hai.
saath me ye dekhkar bhi badi khushi hoti hai ki bahut zindadil aur sincere log hain yahan. man me vishwas aur strong ho jata hai ki "achche logo ke saath milkar desh ke liye kuch achcha kar paye hum bhi". :)
