and a friendly request this thread is not meant for discussing speculation/insider news/our frustrations...
    check the original post carefully...
Lets keep it focused on DAF and Related topics....
and try to stick to English, it might be surprising for a few but there are people who don't know Hindi...
  • i guess v are on the same boat :P

  • @Caartey ya.. thanx.. will ensure the same.
  • @Caartey how does one decide on their home state if they were born, completed schooling and spend a major part of their life in three different states? Does the place of birth become the default home state then?
  • thought to share cse 2011 A.I.R. 59 Swarochisha Somavanshi's form.. he had uploaded in his profile had kept for reference :)

  • @rohit21 , I would if had written mains ..
  • @Caartey how does one decide on their home state if they were born, completed schooling and spend a major part of their life in three different states? Does the place of birth become the default home state then?
You can claim any of those states as your home cadre including your current state of residence (where you have some kind of official proof of residence, BTW staying in delhi for coaching won't count)
    Yes its true ...
You can choose any one of the following....
Your Mother Tongue i.e Your Mother/Fathers Place of Birth
    Your Place of Birth
State where you studied(10th,12th or Degree)
Current State of Residence (Only if you have Ration Card type permanent Address Proofs)

The Reason they ask you to select Home Cadre is to allot according to Insider and Outsider Vacancies...
For AIS, The vacancies in every cadre will be earmarked for 'outsiders' and 'insiders' in the ratio of 2:1
So which ever state you claim as home cadre you will be allotted there if there is INSIDER vacancy
for all the other cadres you will be considered as OUTSIDER...
