Is it possible to clear prelim 2012 in 2 months?

i have been studying coaching notes since october 2011 but i am not confident of clearing prelim exam. i have not read any of the standard books for prelim as recommended by various websites and coaching teachers as well as seniors. i have almost studied everything once, but now with only 60 days left, i am thinking of starting my final leg of preparation as i don't remember anything, or at least i don't remember much.this is also because when i used to "read" coaching notes, i never memorized them as i cannot memorize by heart. is it possible to rat to and memorize everything in 2 months and clear prelim exam.giving me a bad time thinking about it.

another problem is that people are telling me to not write this year as 1) it is too late 2) this is my first time and i won't be able to clear this year, so why not write next year with new pattern..

see, whether you have to write the exam this year or not is totally your choice. nobody can "guide" you on it.dont go by what others are saying about pattern change in 2013.or such "theories" floated by certain section of students.

i think it can be done bro.alot of people study in last 2 months and clear it.esp if u are good at CSAT nothing can stop you.last year a lot of my friends who knew nothing about GS and UPSC got through only because of CSAT.

what is your stream?engineering?or humanities?depends a lot on that too.

Yes, it is quite possible to clear the prelim in 2 months. Not the mains, however. So also plan for that..

i had to say something here. you can clear prelim in 2 months yes sir. but without preparation how do you think you will fare in mains?

also as go_tam said a lot depends on how your csat paper goes. that will b deciding factor. this time also like it was last time

Read the basic books, prepare important topics, and if you already have a solid base in CSAT, you"ll be through. Can't promise with the mains though. I have seen many a guys get through prelims easily and fail miserably at mains,which brings them back to where they started.

thank you guys for all your tips. i just wanted to know the most essential books we need to read before 2 months of the exam. the bare minium on which we should focus.
