CSE 2015 cut off polling station

  • According to me, based on poll analysis experiences( during Orkut day polls ), I have seen cutoff sticking to top 30-33% from the people who have polled.

According to broader survey results ( 1000 votes ) above 110, there are roughly 29% people.. So 108 or 109 I believe could be the cutoff.

However, there are 3-4 doubtful questions which could significantly alter this.. Hence 105+ should be safe according to me.

This is just my analysis. If you people can analyse this in a better way, please enlighten me.

    Thank you

As I quoted on other thread, I used a different logic and arrived at the same conclusion of 108 Cut Off as per your survey.
-I assumed that the people who voted in your poll represent the top 10% of people who gave prelims (As only such people would join a dedicated forum + they have Internet connection which everybody does not have and will have more resources to give the exam)
-This would mean it represents around top 46.5K out of the 4.65 Lakhs people who appeared for prelims (Top 10%)
    - The vacancies are around 15k for prelims which mean 15/46.5= Top 32.2% of survey would qualify.
-From this the cut off comes at around 108
-However when I use the same calculation on the clearias survey the cut off comes around 104.

However with so many swing questions this time, people who are at 95 may actually turn out to be at 105 as per UPSC keys and should start studying

This is just an analysis. You may agree or disagree with it and you have every right but don't abuse me for putting down my view
  • @riseofdawn.....I agree with your logic.. I guess people would poll the optimistic scores roughly 1 or 2 questions in their favour....So going by that the cutoff shall be less than 110, i guess it would be 105 - 110 bandwidth.
  • Data is too small.
    No conclusion can be obtained

Dude I too agree with that 105-110 spread. What could be the cut off for obc.. Going by last year trend...getting 105.

  • Dude yu already had this figure in mind... Yu just used the data to arrive at it
  • according to 2015 "marks scored in prelims as per upsc poll " around 51 % qualified ..so as per this poll it would be 105 or 106. but peoples expected marks are usually little bit inflated so cut off could be around 102-106. though still around 45-55% forum members would qualify.

Kyun jhoot bol rha hai bhai, I remember seeing orkut polls for 2013 and 2014 and roughly 55 to 58 % people qualified, according to forumias poll last year more than 50% people qualified, according to clearias poll last year around 45-50% people qualified.
