Chairman: Can centre interfere in the law & order matters of state? Does India manufacture its own civilian aircrafts or does it procure them from abroad? Which companies make civilian aircrafts and who owns them? If you are standing on a hill and you have to find the depth of the valley, how will you do it without using any equipment? What qualities does one learn from playing cricket? What are the qualities of a good leader?
Member 1: What is global warming? What is greenhouse effect? What is ozone layer depletion? (asked it all at once) If a 3-phase motor receives current in only 2 phases, what will happen to it? What is asynchronous motor? What are the advantages of AC over DC?
Member 2: What is the difference between a feature film and a commercial film? What is the difference between commercial cinema and art cinema? What is the unofficial name of Central Board for Film Certification? What ratings does it provide to the movies and what does it mean?
Member 3: On what criteria does BEE award ratings for electrical appliances? If I have to buy a refrigerator, would a buy a 3 star rating one or a 4 start rating one and why? What do you learn from travelling? What is MSP? Which ministry announces it? What is the full form of CACP?
Member 4: What is the ultimate aim of life? What is your ultimate aim of life? Why do we live? Why do you live?
Chairman: OK that's it. Thank You!
PS:- Optional is philosophy. Nowhere in the form had I mentioned that I like watching films or whatever. Questions seemed incoherent and no relation between the previous question and the next, except at some places. No follow up questions. The topics on which the questions were asked were simple and they didn't ask any question to seek my opinion on any issue. I'm kind of disappointed as I feel that the Board was disinterested in asking interesting questions. Getting this feeling ki bahaut mehnat ke baad team mein selection hua aur phir final mein khelne hi nahin diya gaya! Anyways, duration was for about 25 minutes. Thanks.
Looks like full factual Q and A onslaught is going on with this vice admiral guy. He thinks he's selecting commandos for the Indian Navy special operations team!!
I don't know how many of them can hold fort against his ballistic missiles :-w

Didn't the board ask the 2 phase motor question on the first day? This becomes an advantage for us with interviews at later dates, if they are going to repeat questions. I don't think that's fair :-\
For 3 phase motor question, an excerpt from a website. A three phase motor will not start on only two phases. If it is running and only lightly loaded it will continue to run on two phases. If heavily loaded it will stall or overheat. The simple way to run a three phase motor off single phase is to connect the single phase supply to two of the phase connections (it may be necessary to use a transformer to get the right voltage) and then use a capacitor connected from either (but not both) of the two phase connections to the third phase connection. The other problem is that because the starting current is much higher than the running current you may need a much larger capacitor to start the motor so you usually have two capacitors, a starting and running capacitor, the starting capacitor being switched out when the motor has started.

And if I'm not mistaken, the advantage of 3 phase is that there is more uniform power level + the RMS power level is higher than single or 2 phase. What say electrical engineers? (In ECE we were never taught this)
