UPSC and Civil services are like shaadi ke laado jisse milta hai woh bhi rota jisse nahi milta hai woh bhi
Couple of pointers 1. We overestimate power of officers. In reality they are lakheer ke fakheer. Follow the rule book else u r screwed. Speak to any senior IAS officer. 2. We also overestimate respect for services. AIS and IFS ka respect baki are just called allied services 3. We assume UPSC selection is all hard work. Any candidate who has appeared in UPSC interview knows UPSC is black box. You never know the guy who thinks he will be on border line becomes IAS in first attempt in UR 4. IAS/ IPS are just a service ab toh pension bhi nahi hai. 5. IPS itna jannat hoti toh Safer Karim cheating nahi karta. If IAS was Paradise Baxaurs DM won't have commited suicide and Roman Saini won't have quit the service
good points. at the end, civil services can be called a good job profile. nothing less nothing more

sabse jyadaa respect IFS ki hoti hai kyunki woh ambassadors hote hai but india ke bahar hoti hai job aur woh bhi 20 years baad milti hai yeh post point is ki mental peace hona chaiye warna saari services bekar lagengi - govt/pvt/startup ets
One another guy committed suicide today at orn block 4..what is happening?
Is Upsc more precious than life? Where we as upsc aspirants have come in the mad race of upsc?
Please guys whoever found anyone in distress please help them understand the fact upsc is not end of life and for those who are in mental stress please share it with your flatmates and friends.
What's going on?l!!! Personally I m really upset .A s I am well aware of the pressure and anxiety UPSC demands,it is felt that I lost a brother of my own if any serious UPSC aspirant succumbed to the pressure and commits suicide.Dont know why our brothers can't understand the value of a life..I think coaching centres (including online forums) must initiate counselling class for the students to prepare for the taste of worst in any case..

yes, counselling classes are must. responsible coaching institutes must initiate it
Committing suicide is the worst we can do to save ourselves from the taunts of society.. if you really want to escape the reality or feeling as if you have lost the enthusiasm to live, or feeling empty and you are not able to control it.. then understand that you are not at the right place! May be this is not your calling! every person is here for a reason.. find it and you'll never be thinking about committing suicide ever again.. the faliures won't matter to you because then you'd know that you will eventually achieve it, you would do everything in your power to get there and you will definitely succeed! find a cause to live for, not a reason to die for!! Don't choose upsc Because of the fake glamour it's related with.. don't choose it because you want to prove something to someone.. choose it when you truly feel and understand the logical reasons behind your desire to serve the country.. find your cause and the effects wont let you think about comitting suicide at all.. you will get all the strength to survive the biggest and hardest roadblocks in your path to success.. and always, always be ready for something unexpected and unfortunate.. life is certainly not a bed of roses!
Lastly, Never underestimate the power of a small positive thought.. even if you are drowning, dont loose hope!! There's something better waiting for you at the end of this tunnel.. just go with the flow, be depressed if yiu want, cry a lot, but keep walking!
