  • 1. Go for a Mobile Verification system ..announce a date to make this plateform a READ ONLY and a new plateform where people willing to migrate with mobile number verification can go to make a NEW, GOOD AND IMPORTANT FORUMIAS again.

    2. Ensure a policy where mobile number will not be used by anyone including forumias for commercial purpose.

    3. Include few of the feasible solutions given in first post ( All are not RATIONALLY possible i know).

    4. Make a clearcut policy provision that those going for "virtual tatti" everywhere will be banned for future with same number verification.. making a new email id is far easier and less troublesome then going for a new number. Along with that a Clear SOP can be made to display the number and other personal details of those who REPEATEDLY NONSENSICALLY keep shitting everywhere.

    5. Moderators ko power do ki if anyone is shitting everywhere then a provision can be made where their comments can be delayed for 1 or 2 or 5 minutes in normal scenerio for pre-display moderation or sine-die non-display till any moderator gives a go ahead to comment. And this power should be available to moderators without any questioning of wisdom (TRUST BASED MODEL) but re-instantment to normalcy (quick display of comments) only by supermods or even root only.. it should be a pre-ban deterrent for trolls till mobile number based plateform don't come into picture. (Already 30 second delay between 2 comments thing done during heavy loads..so i think it can be feasible !)

Revive the glory of this great plateform again. Or better Close it !

Moderators are not Orwellian Big brother who will watch everyone everywhere all time. Most of us are not as free like trolls*. Sad conclusion of such threads is- nothing will change! Behind the mask of ice there is a beating heart of fire in some profile operators, they abuse advantages, resort to trickery and distract the purpose of opponents by making multiple profiles and via trolling through them,[Comment deleted] Such people are nothing less then Arminius of the cherusci tribe in the Roman empire-liberator of the barbaric trolls and cheating with the legion of the moderators when they try to stop him. Emperor @root's timely intervention did good by taking note of it, preventing another battle of the teutoborg forrest here.

Problem is grieviance redressal system is too bureaucratic in forumias organisation both due to complexity of the portal and high number of subscribers that flock its gate everyday. Many threads have been created in the past by good samaritans but nothing happened. Perhaps @1manarmy will face its stunning defeat in this war against anarchy of the trolls.

Hath chandan konaarsi kya, padhe likhe ko farsi kya?

*Did I mention we are unpaid too?
[ Mod Note- I'm not burger but I can't allow you to destroy the sanctity of this thread too. Make a new thread and keep doing it there. Hopefully you cooperate. You make a new thread and you will get all your text there in case you have not copied it elsewhere. Thankyou ]
  • The foremost thing that ruins forum is the kind of vulgar words used by people. Those who abuse others should be instantly banned and repeated offenders should be ip banned.Same for trolls.
  • where to write answer in mains marathon page. I am unable to post answers. please help!

    ...
  • Technical glitch -

    1. Tag notifications aren't working.

    Conflict avoidance -

    2. Alongside flag button, please provide a mute button as well. Pressing mute button against user X by user Y shall make user X's posts invisible to user Y only, without letting user X or anybody(barring user Y, ofcourse) know about who muted whom and when. Thus, avoiding conflict. And will ease the workload of moderators. There will be option to unmute as well. Moderators will neither be allowed to mute, nor get muted.

(I know a website that has this feature, and it helps in conflict avoidance to a great deal. Can share the website in private messaging, if you'd like to.)

    User preferences -

    3. Similarly, please provide a hide button alongside every thread but announcement threads. Pressing the hide button will make the thread invisible to the user who pressed the button, and will make space for subsequent thread, supposedly preferred by that user. A mathematics optional guy can simply hide the medical science question paper discussion thread, and vice versa, and so on. There will be option to undo the hide button. And again, moderators won't be provided with this button, for obvious reasons.

(This was a query that the user called Wakaao had too.)

    4. A block button in private messaging.

    P.S. - I love ForumIAS. :)

And kindly avoid comments, if any, that do not sound to be in good taste.

Further recommendations/editing to my points welcomed.

And moderator, feel free to close the thread if deemed unnecessary.

    +1.

I have raised this notification issue long time back but the authority is sleeping over it. Please look into it.

Also, give us the option of hiding threads we don't want to see. What's happening now is just the opposite. Announced threads are assumed to be important but weirdly we have the option to vanish it from our screen.

@root activate notifications option asap. ~_~

    :)

    Are people in favour of

    1) Mobile number verification to avoid duplicate profiles?

    2) dismiss option for threads can be there, but once you have removed a thread from your view, you will never be able to see it again.
make it AADHAR based and do a de-duplication of all the fake profiles ! I am sure everyone by one has an AADHAR number !

Waise, I know personally how much @Neyawn is open to ideas and devoted to improving this website and trying his best to make it a better place. Some of my random comments in one such meeting was seen to be adopted ... :)

Suggestion is good no doubt about that. But sir problem is still not addressed properly I guess. Further this will break anonymity. :)

These trollers, stalkers, and abusers still require strong punishment. We need something like "Fear" among them. I also agree that it is Herculean task for the moderators to keep eye on this. And also they are not paid for this.

We have been watching these kind of things on regular basis on that thread. They are openly abusing. :/ :/
