There are total 35 threads on the first page. Top 3 being such threads in which every aspirant can participate. Barring few among those 35 threads, others are for study or for asking doubts purposes only. There is no bar for thread creation here. Anyone can make a profile and create a thread for their genuine doubts or for study purposes. I see no trolls going there(esp in top three most productive threads) and i see no trolls entering into genuine productive threads either, even if they go, its a rare phenomenon. But also i see most people don't enter into such study related threads.
How many of you have cared to participate in those top three most useful threads on forum? Very few. You are expecting that those two bakar threads to be a source of knowledge and wisdom but you don't see other productive threads on forum from which one can get immense benefits if you are really interested. You have a problem if someone is posting some songs or some stuffs which isn't relevant to upsc preparation on bakar threads. I mean cant you ignore those songs and stuffs or bakar threads altogether and look into those threads in which you are really interested? Are they hurting you in anyway?
Trolls are everywhere, its all upto you whether you want to participate in productive threads and better utilise your time or involve with trolls and waste your time. Choice is always in your hands.
I am not questioning your grievances. But there is a little problem in the name of this thread. Instead of "make ForumIAS great again, you should have written "make bakar threads great again" because ForumIAS is still great and it is still serving its purpose for thousands of aspirants all across India. I can name many threads which are doing immense benefits aspirants- selected and non selected both. A few being- Early bird thread for 2018 aspirants. They are newbies of forum and they are so diligently using that thread for their doubts and other study related matters. Service allocation thread for selected aspirants. Many optional threads. Many pcs threads. Individuals' threads related to specific doubts. Queries regarding coachings and test series. Queries regarding accommodation and other such stuffs. And many more.
Those who need the forum are gettting its benefits without any hurdles. I see no reasons to say "make ForumIAS great again."
Apologies in advance if my words seem offensive to anyone. It is definitely not intended.

1) Mobile number verification to avoid duplicate profiles?
2) dismiss option for threads can be there, but once you have removed a thread from your view, you will never be able to see it again.
Take immediate steps sir. There has been a mass exodus of female profiles recently.
Bhai, ye to yhi.. Isi thread pe again start ho gye......why do not u ban 15/20 profile without thinking any thing.....uske baad sochte rho...u people also know these 15/20 profiles but still all moderators are just seeing FUN ....

The way you have come up with such an elaborate write up, seems either you are one of those 3-4 people who have hijacked chit chat thread of Formias or a devil's advocate hired to defend trolls here. So, according to you those who are serious candidates should come and discuss queries on so called serious threads and that's what forumias is made for.If they want to come on chit chat thread, then they are in for bakar and they should have to tolerate few trolls who abuse, quarrel and have hijacked the whole chit chat thread. Not only chit chat thread but last few days i am witnessing people fighting and trolling on prelims thread. So, people don't have right to see what is going on related to cutooffs and doubtful questions? So,if one has to use forumias he/she adopt some mechanical approach of just opening the concerned thread, post queries and move on.I have been a silent observer but I sometime think to participate on chit chat thread or prelims thread. But,the way female members as well as well mannered users are treated by few trolls there, always keeps me away. So,you have made an assertive statement that forumias is still great.Have you done survey of all the users through interviewing that they are happy with forumias and whatever they need is being fullfilled. You have made claim that people from all over India is participating here and forumias is serving their purpose nicely. Do you have all the facts and data related to what is the potential of forumias and what it has reached. What if i say that many people who come here have some human aspect to.They apart from serious studies want to interact with like minded IAS aspirants in an informal way.that But, what they find is these threads have been hijacked by few and are abusing and fighting willing participants from these threads. Don't you think if these threads offer better environment to people, willingness to participate on others thread will go up? no,you don't think so. Writing long comment in assertive manner doesn't make you argument correct.your claims are just set of assertive statement without any basis..The people on new birds 2018 or some other serious thread may be discussing in very nice way, does that mean they don't want to come on chit chat thread or any other general purpose thread. You are no one to decide who are serious and who are in for bakar. What forumias has achieved and what not?. Deterrence! if you are able to survive trolls, offensive comments then come. Since few users of this thread are used to quarreling, mud slinging and have adapted themselves to such environment, does that others too have to live their way. Sir, don't defend wrong things just because you yourself is one of them. The way you are commenting, seems you are old user but your profile suggest that you have made it today only. I feel idiots like you who defend such people with long baseless comments should be banned first.
Sorry,if it is offensive to some.
Best of luck.
P.S :I found things overwhelming though i am a silent observer, I felt need to comment

Thanks for bashing and abusing me. Have a nice day.
This is how i avoid trolls too, not accusing you of being a troll though.
Moderators are not Orwellian Big brother who will watch everyone everywhere all time. Most of us are not as free like trolls*. Sad conclusion of such threads is- nothing will change! Behind the mask of ice there is a beating heart of fire in some profile operators, they abuse advantages, resort to trickery and distract the purpose of opponents by making multiple profiles and via trolling through them,[Comment edited] Such people are nothing less then Arminius of the cherusci tribe in the Roman empire-liberator of the barbaric trolls and cheating with the legion of the moderators when they try to stop him. Emperor @root's timely intervention did good by taking note of it, preventing another battle of the teutoborg forrest here.
Problem is grieviance redressal system is too bureaucratic in forumias organisation both due to complexity of the portal and high number of subscribers that flock its gate everyday. Many threads have been created in the past by good samaritans but nothing happened. Perhaps @1manarmy will face its stunning defeat in this war against anarchy of the trolls.
