Last evening was terrible :-( Second mains. OUT. Unemployed since graduation(btech eve). Age nearing 28. Skipped many opportunities for cse dream. Sitting unemployed for such a long time. Friends what should be the strategy for people like us who want to pursue civils but need a back up job too? I am having a mental blockade at present. Never felt so low in my life. Need some suggestions friends. Is private sector a viable option? Moreover are there any options/opportunities for us there? Enlightenment needed friends :-(
I can give u a socio grp whatsap info.nearby Noida .But barring a few, most are freshers. I was in it for 2 days or so,just because I didnt knw it was for socio

I may be lost today but I understand that UPSC is not all that is there in our life. I am not very sure about my future moves but am happy that I prepared for this exam. It made me humble. Now,when I look back, I realize I made so many mistakes.3 years back When I started for this exam, I was over confident or may be arrogant.I did not give much respect to people who took 4 years to clear it.I said to many of my friend that people don't admit their mistakes and place blame at somewhere. Today, after 3 failed attempts, I may be appearing for my 4th attempt.Irony!!!! Friends,This is a tough time for all of us.Take some time and analyze. If you decide to persist or you decide to move on,both would be a very brave decision.
Don't go all abstract bhai... I know the feeling of powerlessness such a big failure can bring. I was in this boat twice before.

Do try private sector but make sure that your talents and energy are not exploited by vested interests like coachings, NGOs, political groupings etc. for peanuts. This is most important thing.
Strategize and start again. 2nd attempt is not that long of a journey. I hv cleared CSM in my fourth attempt this time. And I am 29. And I will again fill up for CSE, just in case I don't clear or get desired rank.
And I guess you must be from general category. Right?? Get a backup option in banking, SSC etc. Life is truly tough for general category so take any backup. Don't consider anything small.
Employed or unemployed doesn't matter for preparing this exam ,what matters is peace of mind and a positive outlook during the preparation phase...banda job ka pressure mei taiyyari nahi kar sakta ,and also pressure wala job mei bhi taiyari nahi kar payega.... All the best..

I can understand ur situation. Dont feel depressed. Rather accept the fact that you didnt clear, take a break for some days to avoid emotions and then plan for future.
If you are thinking of a backup SSC or ur state PSCs might be good. They give u enough time to prepare.
In private, u need to start from the scratch. You need to brush up your concepts again. SItes like codeguru, coursera might help you. But these will not leave much time for preparation.
Think and consult more people. But before all that donot make any radical decisions in next week.
I'm going over the same situation. I've been pursuing CSE, ever since my graduation and after 3 attempts and 2 mains i'm completely dejected and don't know what to do. I sat down with my family and expressed my concerns. My parents asked me to go on, no matter what.. But the thing is, i feel like i've already let down my family, relatives and friends who have been really supportive. And i've been really lazy for the past 2 months and i'm finding it hard to pull myself back up and start preparation.

This thread was made by me last year.
Last year I was frustrated like hell. I was jobless, 28 years of age and sitting at home. Just like many of you.
