What will be the expected cut-off of the GS Paper 1 for the UPSC 2016?

From last 3 years, 100-110 is a very good score in GS. To get this much, you need to have 65% + accuracy which is not easy to achieve.

This year there will be around 5 lac aspirants. But the number of selected candidates for mains will be between 15000-18000. That is around 3 to 3.5 %. One must have 97 percentile among all applicants.

So whats the final cutoff

  • aagaya finally  :D
  • My prediction 112-115 due to less seats and better preparation. ( paper level same as 2015)

    Cutoff 103-108 ( Paper level 2012, 2014)

    Cutoff 108-113 ( paper level 2011, 2013)

    this will be 14000.
cut-off will be low (cyclic nature of upsc paper and history repeats itself).
  • All the people who are writing this exam are not serious aspirants. The real competition is only between 10% of the people. There is no way out that the cut off for 2014 paper would have gone to 103-108.

yeh aapki galat femi hai kyunki berozgari se agar hum jaise ko serious bana diya hai to baki ko bhi kardiya hoga, dont underestimate demographic dividend, atleast 40 percent are serious candidates.

Dil ke behlane ko Ghalib yeh khayal achcha hai.

Acha hai serious rahyee. Aise Saare exam Ka trend almost same rehta hai, serious aspirants ko Leke. This time lot of aspirants will be doomed because of their prejudice that the cutoff will go high and it will lead to more tukkabaji.
