Hello everyone, I am a fresher now and wish to write next year CSE. But, before fully deciding just want to ask you experienced people that can a fresher who starts today compete CSE 19 with a good rank?? 6 months and 29 days (1 day less 7 months) for Prelims and 10 months and 16 days for mains remain. Can I compete if I study consistently with proper planning and start today itself?? Please advice. Thanks..

It depends how much quality & quantity of time u are willing to put into ur preparation... If u can give around 10 QUALITY hours daily with consistency, then u can do it... If u are completely new & don't even know the basics then go through the ncerts (6th to 12th selectively) in the first 3 months itself ie. Nov, Dec & Jan... Feb, March, April & May must be reserved for prelims specific preparation. Standard books like laxmikanth, rajeev ahir, shankar environment, sriram economy etc. along with prelims mock tests, India year book, economic survey. have to be covered during this period, with revision... Since u are aiming for a good rank, so u have to complete your optional once till Feb last... & last but not the least... Current affairs should be taken care of simultaneously... Just after prelims, start answer writing... Better to join any mains test series... If u can do these things in the remaining time then u can get into the service of your choicefor sure... Have faith in yourself... All the best... @fresheraspirant
