  • @Winchesters :
RTI online dalne wali site pe to UPPSC ka option hi nahi hai :( . Aur doosri baat ki RTI mein kya puchunga?
If I ask them , how come cutoff for general and obc are equal then they will reject my RTI becuase questions like how, why, etc are not entertained in RTI .

There is no reservation in promotion for SC/ST/OBC (any of them) as far as i know.
  • @Street_Fighter : perhaps you are right.

But I think due to the issue that I have raised many SC/ST students have got affected too.
  • I don't think this is a big issue at all. I remember in one of the exams conducted by UPSC (maybe CAPF 2-3 years back), the cutoff for obc was more than general.
  • @Mandark : bhai bahot hi jyada locha hai !!

Mujhe to ye nahi samajh aa raha ki sab log uppsc mains de hi kyon rahe hain ? jab tak uppsc transparent roop se kaam nhi karti tab tak exam dene se koi fayda nahi hai .

@Winchesters : thanks bhai ! us site pe to jo diya hai uske hisab se ye pata chal ja raha h ki koi information nhi milegi :p . us site pe to fees tak nahi mention kiya hai.
  • Lena hoga lena hoga OBC reservation wapis lena hoga... Are kab tak karoge is des ko badnam do ab Mandal ko itihas ka naam... Dedicated to all general candidates :)
  • Simple many obc with age relaxation are clearing uppcs they cannot be accommodated as General so cutoff has increased.
waise do not cry if u are not able to despite having reservation.we General category ppl have live with this in every exam in which we complete.so stop crying and focus on something else.

I'm amazed how come no one here knows the process at all!

Here's how it works: Read both points...
Firstly, While filling the forms, one is asked to select the "category". One may choose to fill ST/SC/OBC or one may choose General. Now the interesting thing here is that ST/SC/OBC can also fill "General". There's no compulsion on them to fill the category they belong to. Couple of category students who are confident and do not like the tag that "oh they got selected due to reservation" fill General.

Same rule applies on all government exams.

My own uncle got through AIIMS through "General" because he was a topper in Rajasthan and was too proud to put the "category" choice.

Secondly, here's a lawyer's comments on the same kind of question but about UKPSC. read his reply. He clearly says that just because he Got more marks doesn't shift him to General category (i.e. make him eligible to get a general seat while he has filled OBC in his form)

This "automatic shifting from OBC to General" is a theory made by some guy who mis-intrepretated and got spread because of insecurities of others. It's not true.
  • @roshhan bodo is right ...OBC ko jo age relaxation mila hai ..woh general me gine honge..ab bhai age relaxation liya hai to unhe kum age wale general ke sath kaise count karenge
