The cutoffs in UPPSC prelims is as below :

Now the
BIG question is how can the cutoff of General and OBC be equal viz. 279 ? There seems something fishy !
Let me explain the method of filling of seats : Let the there be total 100 seats.
So the seats will be 27 reserved for OBC , 23 for SC/ST, 50 for general students.
Let the cutoff for general be 279. Then these will include all the general candidates (including girls = 1/3) + OBC candidates scoring above 279(including girls= 1/3) + SC/ST candidates scoring above 279(including girls=1/3). So 50 seats are filled now.
Now the rest 27 seats of OBC and 23 seats of SC/ST will be filled by those OBC and SC/ST candidates (boys and 1/3 girls) who could not score 279 or above.
NOTE : the OBC and SC/ST candidates who have scored 279 or above it will not be counted in 27 and 23 seats.Reference :

Then how is it possible that the cutoff of General and OBC be equal viz. 279 ?
There can be only two possible explanations : 1. All the OBC candidates who are filled in that 27% reservation scored 279 marks (which is unlikely) . If for a moment it is believed that all the 27% reservation students scored 279 then why were they not counted in the general candidates ? The OBC cutoff should have been 278.9 or anything below the general cutoff , but in no case equal to general cutoff.
2. UPPSC forgot about the above rule that those who have scored above 279 should not be counted in 27% OBC seats. They seem to have counted them too which is wrong.
If UPPSC corrects its mistake many of the OBC candidates will be eligible to write mains this time itself. I don't know how to raise this issue hence I am posting it here.
I myself is a general candidate but this is a matter of following rules and ethics. We cannot let such injustice happen , all the more when we ourselves are UPSC aspirants.

@sankalp_sharma15 : OBC quota khatam karna ya na karna is not the issue here. The issue is about ethics and following the rules. Since the quota is there then why are the rules being flouted ?
See , now you get my point , it is all about ethics and following the rules. UPPSC is doing something fishy ! It needs to be rectified .
Either they should change the rule or follow it ! This is my point.
Chahe buddhe exam de ya jawan isse kya fark padta hai yaar ? Baat ko samjho fir comment karo. I hope I have made you understand.
Also I tried filing online RTI but on the website : https://rtionline.gov.in there is no option to select UPPSC. Please help.
