and whats the point solving a 200 marks paper to score 66 and above.. i mean there r some ppl who soo sure that their answers are correct and they can just solve 50% and leave the hall.. if accuracy is guaranteed why waste time sitting in the hall.. what point does csat make anymore..
Solve quant and reasoning questions and leave the exam hall. No need to waste time there. :-B

there are some very very silly and stupid questions asked everyyear in paper 2.. so we can easily attempt those and skip the ambiguous rc questions and leave the hall.. i mean everyone is going to do that.. attempt the easy sureshot ones.. leave the weird rc questions and score 33 percent.. why is it such a mockery now ??? duh !!

    @NikolaTesla
bro create another thread where pro csat people can just register their presence....no discussions on that thread..let this thread be closed.we know no change can be brought this year...so lets sweat even under our AC s and study hard .
See bro.. u r studying under ac but there is no proper facility of library for some rural students..

u wanna argue on logic?ok...just my ne last reply---
rural apsirants have got very good quant books, reasoning books and are good in maths too...what they dont have is access to english newspapers like HIndu and indian express from which most of the questions in mains are asked...dont fool peple here in the name oof rural aspirants...most of the govt reports are in english..its this pattern which will do morre damage to them as most gs questions will be from only english sources.so its advantage english medium, not rural aspirants who know to do basic quants and reasoning unlike many f u here.
who is fooling... csat just made a mockery of gs... and see you guys not able to digest csat is gone which u completely relied on... u talk of comprehending skills required for an ias officer but cant i talk about rural aspirants.. remember they may get some books.. but u guys just go to coaching centers and learn tricks to solve a two hour paper which decides ur fate... what about those guys who studied for years

  • Its a fight we fought for 3 years... and today we witnessed results after some of the aspirants sacrificed their careers as cases were registered against them... u need not teach us logic brother.. i believe in promptings of the heart not in logics of the mind.

Csat really had bought down the quality of candidates appearing for mains.
Few apti Qs can be a part of gs1 but having equal w8g to gs(which takes hell loads of efforts) and csat(easily masterable) is really unfair to non-engg rural bkgrnd candidates.

  • Idiots blaming the government's political ambitions for the change. Have any of you read UPSC's Nigvekar Committee report? It clearly reports in its findings that CSAT favoured a particular subset of students (urban and science/technical) and was responsible for people poor at GS writing Mains.

And the most absurd argument is that humanities people are at an advantage because they come pre-prepared in History, Geography etc. This is simply a lack of understanding of how BA education works. How is a Philosophy graduate any better at History or Geography than an engineer? And don't science/engineering students have an advantage themselves in Prelims in the General Science questions?

@GabbarIsBack Guess you know more than Mr Nigvekar about the impact of CSAT on rural students? And your assertion about rural candidates facing difficulty in Mains is absurd. Most of them never went beyond the Prelims stage after introduction of CSAT with students from urban areas (the entire CL junta) hogging up all the seats with high marks in Aptitude.

@All Don't waste time here. Start studying for GS. It looks stupid when some of you say that we don't care, we will see who clears Prelims, engineers will still rock, and then keep creating one thread after another cribbing about CSAT.
  • Csat really had bought down the quality of candidates appearing for mains.
    Very much true.

Csat really had bought down the quality of candidates appearing for mains.
Absolutely. Quoting from Mrunal's summary of Nigvekar report:
2.Candidates with poor command over general studies are qualifying because of their good command over aptitude. (Since even the best candidates in general studies, cannot score beyond a point in GS paper- given its toughness).
  • CSATwa ke hatne se yahan sab ki haath me aa gayi hai.Bina Gs padhe IAS afsar banenege.lolzwwwa.
I myself would prefer giving a tough fight with Really deserving candidates in mains and not become an ias rather than fight with csat sissies and become ias by lottery.

  • Bhai log dont worry i think upsc will set such type of paper that anti csat people will protest to have csat back just wait and watch.

If one is wondering about any bias in the Nigavekar committee report it may be relevant to know that Dr Nigavekar is a renowned Solid State Physicist and educationist. This man knows about aptitude.
