Some people claim that astrology is scientifically backed. Even i don't wish to believe in such a thing. But when u look at an astrologer at work they are always busy in very logical mathematics and astronomy. though i couldnt figure out how they link their conclusions with a person's past and future.

It is that very link where the fallacy lies. Ancient astronomy was quite accurate. They could predict motions in the heavens and eclipses. People got pompous and greedy and started 'marketing' it to the public at large. They used astronomy to market astrology. Add a few fallacious arguments; talk about life death and money - and presto, you have astrology, the mutant perversion of the ancient science of astronomy.

I have no issues if someone believes for the sake of faith. I am opposed to the people who understand the fallacy but choose to look the other way for one reason or another.
