zulfiquar sir's class was better than expected. his quality of teaching is very good ,entertains all doubts calmly and also takes extra effort to discuss even small points also very well. he is worth all the parise.
@indian111.. They do both. There are separate classes for current affairs as well. However current affairs classes are not very frequent. And they incorporate current affairs in their regular class as well. I can cite two examples from today's class lecture.
Geography teacher while teaching energy minerals, also explained about issues in South China Sea, OVL investments in Vietnam, China's claim in vietnam. Similary he explained about the issues emerging from fall in petroleum prices, how US through deal with Iran may divide OPEC, Issues of Caspian Sea, why claims in Arctic ocean is on rise and so on. I think any good teacher would explain all these issues. Also a lot depends upon the student. Many don't pay attention & then complain later. Even I had got negative feedback about the very same Geography teacher from a friend in Jamia Milia. I wanted to skip his class. But luckily I din. He evn stays after the class for sometime and is free for sometime before class. We always go to him with doubts.
Another example where History teacher while teaching 1937 elections explained how Congress did a blunder by not accepting pre-poll terms of Muslim League. This energized Jinnah and ML. And in the 1946 elections Congress could hardly garner Muslim votes. He compared this to 1984 blunder by Rajiv Gandhi - One in Shah bano case and opening locks of babri masjid. Result was that the same BJP which won only 2 seats in 1984, went on to win 80+ seats in 1989 elections.
So these interconnetions are made in classe ( I think this would be done in any class of any good coaching). I think it all boils down to the student. For many these explanations would be rubbish, few may find them useful.
@abhim65 .Ethics is taken by same teacher who teaches at Sriram and Vision. He is also very good.
I am getting many queries regarding the classes at GS mentors. I may not be able to reply to them personally as I will abstain from forum till Pre atleast. In short, I would say classes are very good. You won't repent after joining them. There might be some issues with South Indian guys because teachers sometimes talk in Hindi too. But that is only informal talks. Explanation and class lectures are in English.
I am refraining from giving a detailed review as someone will label me as a promoter of GS mentors. I would suggest that you go to their classes and ask for as many demos you want. We are having 3 classes now. sit in all three and decide for yourself.
apart from class room study, will they provide printed study material? i took demo classes in gs mentors at mukherjee nagar but they are not comprehensive!!! what i do???
