To start with, what's representativeness heuristics? how does it link with probability? any idea??
eg- u see a person with dirty clothing sitting alongside the road, u will categorise him as a beggar. but that individual might be coming from a fight and sitting there to take a breath.
so most of the times, like all heuristics, RH reduce our cognitive efforts by readily providing us solutions to categorisation problems but they are also prone to mistakes.
how they help in estimating probability of events?
in our memory schemas we assign some characters to every category. this helps us in predicting the future behavior of the members of that category. so if u have ease of categorization with RH u will certainly be able to predict.
eg- in the above example, if ur categorization of begger is correct, u will predict that this individual will start begging soon.

i haven't joined pathak sir.... i m taking a test series at beautiful mind so i just tried to answer this question only but in human/computer i think we can approach it like-
“Individual computers can become very like individual humans but group of computers will have a different culture from group of humans in interaction.” Do you agree? Give reasons to support your answer.
similarities b/w humans & computers- info. processing approach
now discuss features of group behavior- role of attitudes, values, emotions, prejudices, leadership etc.
obviously computers dont face these problems.

Relation between representative heuristic and Probability- RH ignores probability of events in the sense that it doesnt a/c for the probability that a person on the street maybe a beggar. For ex. the P that you would a beggar in European countries maybe very less but since an image of a person like this is a prototypical of a beggar the person may assign it a disproptionate value..
