Called Mr. Farid. He was in a hurry today. I asked him if the notification is coming out on 17th. He outrightly said "No, it will be delayed". So i asked him if this delay means there are some changes. He said "Yes, there will be changes". I asked him at both the stages- pre and mains? . He said "most probably". I asked him about optionals and csat but he said he cant tell anything with surety right now.I thanked him and disconnected.

Can a delay in issuance of notification cause the postponement of prelims?
It might but chances are less. Last time notification was delayed by more than a month and prelims was delayed by just a week if i am not wrong. So this time if they issue the notification with say a delay of 10-15 days, i don't think they will be delaying prelims

Yes..Surely prelims z delayed... even mains may be delayed if major changes are in mains.
If notification is delayed, then there must be substantial changes - not just changes in weightage of one section or another.
And if changes are major, the entire exam process may be delayed. But if Prelims becomes one paper, evaluation time would come down and Mains could still be on time.
And if there are changes in Mains, there are only a few things that can happen going by the political statements and the Nigaverkar report.
Don't expect any delay in Prelims and mains exam...Notification is being delayed by 7-10 days. Another thing changes are for sure in both prelims and mains...Keep preparing prelims on the same line and for mains prepare only GS . Rest keep guessing...
