  • No doubt IE has good coverage but at the same time THE HINDU is must becoz upsc mind set still not changed i.e quetions still have hindu relevance so my opinion is dont take risk..... :-*
  • Going through previous years' papers, you can almost see a random paper-setter somewhere making a mental note to test candidates on an issue covered by the Hindu, over their morning coffee. Even the Krishna flute-playing theme question that apparently flummoxed a few was inspired (or lifted from, depending on how one sees it) by an article in the Hindu's culture supplement.

    I don't like it much, either, but personally feel it's indispensable for a variety of reasons.

    because UPSC wants to recruit the people who are of socialist mindset, who just thinks not only for corporate lobby, but also for the marginalized section of society, the problems faced by minorities, the labour class, the poor, thats why the hindu is important dude. Bureaucrats are supposed to be of some left leaning attitude, rather than becoming right wing fundamentalist, thts why the hindu is important.

    Karl Marx, Lenin, Jaiprakash Narayan , Ram manohar Lohiya are still and will remain relevant in India.

    thats why the hindu is important.

    and yet despite its extremely kind heart, our bureaucracy has been rated as worst in Asia.

    @rookie
    I solely study thehindu.. Do you do the same or do you supplement it with the editorials of IE?
  • are thehindu.com and epaper equal in terms of news and articles

    Bro studying both Hindu and IE..
  • I have been reading TH for last 18 months. Started IE just 2 weeks ago. have naturally shifted to IE as main paper and TH as supplement. It was quite surprising to see the difference in covering Hernderson Brooks' report by these two dailies. IE was far excellent. wish to see same in coming days as I find IE better readable.
  • This is Election year , The Hindu is covering national politics that is why for relevant material one has to go with IE or other .
