1. Static focus shouldn't be lost. Leave no stone unturned even if past papers say only 1-2 questions from medieval. What if those 1-2 questions are easy ones?
If some static subject seems tough to take in, pickup books that are easier to read. I use Tamil nadu ncert for ancient medieval because it's simpler, though it might not cover everything. Once you master a simpler book, you can always go back to the most suggested book and it will be much simpler as 60% is already covered.
In subjects i like, i do go deeper than standard books. For example - geography from pmfias. Culture from nitin sangwan pdf ( apart from singhania )
2. Tests : always did more than 40 odd tests, that included 15 odd FTs. I revise them too. Prelims prep - gave 2+ months in 2nd, 3rd attempt too.
3. In second and 3rd attempt i did CA from two sources. First i master one source and then pick up another institute material to figure out the content that's exclusive from first source.
4. I don't know how to put this.. but be inquisitive in general. I think if you get VoLTE question wrong, you're not curious about the things around you. We see VoLTE symbol on phone on a daily basis.
In spite of all this, pre is an unpredictable stage. If you're out this year, don't conclude that you are not smart or you're entire strategy is at fault. There always an element of luck
