Mains 2018 thread page 17 one was saying 117 marks..... I think no one is inflating their marks :(
  • Shankar ke wrong ans.

    Aral
    MPs
    Wellesley
    Human capital
    General theory of relativity
    Law and liberty.

Aral, MP, law and liberty wrong... Human capital is correct in Shankara...
human capital is 100% wrong ..ans is 2 only

ans subsidiary alliance me bhi ans is D
Human capital was the most certain question in the paper.. It includes intangible wealth... Isme energy waste mat Karo nahi karwao dusreka...
human capital is 2 only . have solid proofs for it . many authoritative sources . it is a niche concept relating to skills , knowledge and capacity , dont try to generalize it by including all intangible wealth into it . i am 100% sure about this . read the world bank document , or nitiaayog article on human capital . you will get the concept .
aa gaya mera bhai..intangible wealth me not accounted natural resources bhi include ho jate bhai ye bhi batao paapiyon ko
iska answer 4 coachings ne bhi 2 only diya hai . aur agar intangible wealth ans hota to , 2nd statement dene ki jarurat hi nhi thi . even social capital , culture is intangible wealth , but not part of human capital ; according to world bank .
Bhai byjus aur dhyeya ias me alawa aur kisne Diya hai ....
Bhai 4 kya sab coaching wale bhi bole to v iska answer 2 and 4 ha..
Bhai aise to saare coaching waale Baikal to bhi add kiye hai, jisme shuru ke 10 din koi debate nai that.

  • Many things affect cutoff for any exam. 1st cutoff is not fixed by chairman or any board member. Cutoff means marks of last admitted candidate. Suppose here intake for main's is 10000. So they select 1st 5000 candidate according of their merit ( here their category doesn't matter ). Remaining 5000 candidates are selected on basis of obc, sc,st,pH category wise. Here suppose obc's reservation is 27%, then 2700 candidates they have to select from remaining one's, they take 2700 from remaining, they don't see the marks of that candidates, select 2700. Same process applies for sc,st,pH category. Cutoff is not like that upsc fixed --- or --- as cutoff. This time there is less difference between general & obc cutoff due to rs 800000( noncreamy layer limit)
    Factors affecting cutoff.
    1) vacancies
    2) toughness of paper
    3) candidates appeared
This year vacancies are only 780 compare to previous year. Hence 2 marks upside possible in cutoff if toughness is same.
Many candidates think that paper was very very tough. It seems correct. Hardly any question which has only 1 correct answer. Here elimination method is also not working. Here minimum 12-13 marks should be deducted for cutoff from previous year
This year csat looks easy as compare to previous one. Last year many out due to toughness of cast. Here 0.5 mark should be added in cutoff for this year due to easy csat.
This year there are many who applied only for ifos due to less seats in case. This year only 3 lakh actually given prelim exam. It means who prepared well, they appeared only for prelim.
Above data shows cutoff as follows. Here shankar is right or wrong does not matter. Your answer should match with upsc key.
    General 96.50
    Obc 94.00
    Sc 88
    St 80
    PH 64
    Let's wait till 10-11th July 2018
jab 96.50 likhna tha to itna bakwaas kyun kiya...G
    Ha ha ha

Question in simplicity that in one person standing infront you has following qualities. Now you have to tell that which quality is certainly due to human capital formation. Now apply reasoning. Statement one is more appropriate even than intangible becoz to acquire capital one need sound knowledge and skill... but other ways might be there so rule out as we are not certain. Statement 2 is absolute no doubt. By Option 3 cant say certaintly that its outcome of human capital, likewise option 3&4.. thus correct ans 2 only.. this is logic by which upsc will decide ans no matter from where this question is picked up
  • Cut off is 106.67. Note kar lo.

My cut off is my cut off. None of your cut off. :triumph:
yesterday ur cut off was different na
  • Koi khabar aayi kya?
  • Modifying earlier cut-off range. Now its 78-82.
A lesson for future aspirants , coaching institutes and self-proclaimed experts.
    R-Day coming soon.
