An agreement between the government of Israel and Rajasthan signed,after that israel decided to help rajasthan establish nine Centres of Excellence in the desert state. These centres are meant for agricultural produce fruits and vegetables.Money is invested for research, development and cold storage. The centres are meant to be opened in places where the particular crop is grown on priority, to help the farmers excel.
Controversy:Three out of the nine agricultural ‘Centres of Excellence’ are in places where their utility is questionable because the crop for which they were started is not cultivated there. 1.centre for flowers has been opened at Sawai Madhopur,Sawai Madhopur is famous for its guava production and the farmers are doing profitable business through it.GUAVA was introduced there in 1990 and slowly,guava from Sawai Madhopur started being exported across the nation.Yet, the centre for guava has been opened at Tonk, where there is no production of guava and the farmers of the region are yet to become familiar with the crop.it will take around 15 years to develop flower cultivation. 2.A similar mismatch was about to happen at Jhalawar which is famous for oranges but a centre for multiple vegetables was about to be opened in jhalawar.There is already another centre for citrus fruits in Kota.Orange being a citrus fruit, should have been a part of it as well instead of opening two centres. 3.Many attempted to stop the opening of centre for mangoes at Dholpur, as a major area of production of mango is at Banswara. https://t.me/prepRASRPSCenglish
20th Livestock Census As per 20th livestock census 2019 the total livestock population in Rajasthan are 56.8 million. There is a decline of 1.66% from the previous 19th livestock census of 2012. As per 19th census the livestock population in Rajasthan was 57.7 million. Rajasthan comes second after U.P. in livestock population Total livestock population in India is 537.78 million First livestock census was conducted in 1919-20 Livestock census (which include Cattle, buffalo, Sheep, Goat, Horse & Ponies, Mules, Donkeys, Camel, Pig) and Poultry in the State is conducted by the Revenue Board, Ajmer. Animal Husbandry is a major economic activity of the rural peoples, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions of the Rajasthan. Makrana Marble gets Global Heritage Stone Tag marble from Makrana in Rajasthan is now Asia’s first Global Heritage Stone Resource (GHSR) by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), an international non-governmental organisation devoted to international cooperation in the field of geology. The GHSR designation seeks international recognition of natural stone resources that have achieved widespread utilisation in human culture and has earlier identified just 15 such stones, including UK’s Portland stone and Italy’s Carrara marble. Phad Painting- They are folk scroll painting style The narratives of folk dieties mostly Pabuji and Devnarayanji ( longest phad) are depicted on Phad The figures are rounded, wear traditional attire and head gear. The paintings have vibrant colours with prominent black lines. Natural colours are used The figures in the Painting is flat and they all face each other instead of facing the audience ( viewer) of the painting Created as mobile/ travelling temples, these folk paintings are carried by priest singers called Bhopas and Bhopis who would sing and perform stories of the lok devtas The bhopa sings and narrates the story depicted on the phad painting. He also plays Ravanhatta , a bow string instrument. The bhopi also accompanies him through song and dance. The Joshi family of Bhilwara are traditional artists of this art form.
