This exam is all about how sincere you are about the preparation... jo targets yahan pe likhe jaa rhe hai agar sincerely follow ho rhe hai to I think it's enough to clear prelims.. My 2 cents Standard books + The Hindu (Not superficially but in depth) + 1 another good source of CA (either vision or vision + insights both if possible) is enough to clear prelims.

Hey Prowess, although it is difficult to predict where the questions in prelims come from, but can you suggest about the question below- Is it a common static source based question or was it in news somehow? Also suggest the tukkabaji that should be employed for solving this question. I am confused because of the first option.
well, no single book contains the material to validate / reject those 3 statements. But if you knew only one fact that organic matter in the soil is beneficial for water retention, then all the wrong options could be eliminated, without knowing anything about sulfur cycle.
and since i too am not very experienced being a first timer, gave this exam with final year. so u can refer mrunal's analysis for that.
