@woman no offense meant, it is just that your survey is pure perception based and hardly any useful data would be generated. constructive improvements in my technique welcome...especially by AMR guys
Different surveys have different purpose. My survey is perception based because that is what I wanted to gauge. And as far as its usefulness goes, your view is well, just your perception. So, relax. This is not a best-survey-creation contest, at least not one that I will make even the slightest effort to win. I see that your survey has a different goal and that's completely OK. Cheers.
I just took the survey.. nice one.. you could have added regional and category option too.. also the fact that first question is in percent and others in terms of marks instead of no. Of questions is a good approach.
Seen the poll , I thought I could participate too . However , I couldnt make it to mains . Still persons like me would be able to provide inputs as if we had written . Will that do ..? Since its only for mains participants , I dont want to spoil the survey I-) .
I think you should have specified the standard of marking before we embarked on the survey. I took the survey and here was my marking scheme:
1. 5 marks -> my best answers ( complete in all respect) 2. 4 marks -> good content but presentation lacking; most of the aspect covered in bullet points 3. 3 marks -> average answers ( especially if the question had some subjectivity) 4. 1 & 2 marks -> I didn't attempt any such questions but incomplete, vague , paper filling answers may be put here
Finally for the optional: 250 -> maximum marks ( for Physics, a correct attempt of 475+ should fetch this much) 200 -> good, decent attempt ( of course I am assuming the scenario for science optional, say 400+ correct attempt in physics) 150 -> average
Essay: 130-140 -> for consistency, flow, content. Others may specify standards.
Only when we ensure uniformity in marking, the survey shall be meaningful. Hope the suggestion is considered and we begin afresh.

I realized this issue as soon as I created it. but changing the survey midway would have been unfair. So, once this is done, will create another one for everyone. Hope that is ok. Plus there are restrictions on how can you segregate data on a free account, so did not want to mix up people who wrote it & those who didn't.

Thank you
I don't quite agree.
1> The survey asks for what you think would be enough to get through, not what you expect to score. 2> What you might consider as your best might be average for someone else. So best & worst are also perceptions. There is no way of establishing any uniformity at this juncture. 3> Different people checking same answers will give different marks, so you see ..
The whole point is that I didn't want to establish any uniformity among varying irreconcilable perceptions of what might happen or what might not. The best way was to let it be as simple as possible and so it is. Having said that you are free to create another survey & seek opinion. That is completely up to you.

5-10 is generalisation and most fall there....u have to subdivide it and narrow it down further
