Not for service but i am inclined towards an idea of compulsory military training of 2 years in school as followed in some countries within prescribed limits. That teaches an individual the values of discipline, living healthy life, compatriot-ship, bravery and many more which cud help people after school in facing tough situations in life.

Monk, I measure my words very carefully. I am not supporting that community page or science minister statement and neither examples you mentioned. I was showing you what I found. I mocked and did facepalm when heard this from the dais of science congress. I meant in other senses and idk why you linked it with particular govt. There are hundred of things of past and including vedas in which I take proud being a Hindu despite being hardcore science student and I find a good level of rationality and those who are really curious about knowledge, are rational and want doubt clearance don't need forwarded messages of any IT cell to believe or ignore something. I read lot, analyse and then decide to feel proud or laugh at it. These things do make me believe my past was glorious, and I stand by it. For me, Modernity doesn't mean ignoring good things of past like from the editor desk of the quint or the hindu. May be we can have discussion on another day.

arey bunny bhaiyaa, i did a research whether he said or not and this was the only link i got which is from some random person. officially hawking never shared this as far as i have read and followed him and therefore i condemn science minister for spreading such nonsense. i hope we are clear now.
