Saying that there is no evidence is wrong.... there r some evidence which r doubtful... unless why the matter is so debatable..how can u state something conclusive like "there is no evidence that...." to be correct in a issue which is still inconclusive.... Brother jb entire Q rs tripathi book ke paragraph s uthaya gya hai, whats the point of quoting basham or any other source. The examiner has prepared the Q from this passage itself. No evidence word is used in statement 1 of the IVC Q as well. Now there is a tweaking theory going on that examiner has tweaked the statement in IVC , In Cabinet "to the people" as well. General approach always prevails in such Qs.
Itna simple nahi hai.... 2nd aur 3rd dono statements tweaked hai.... isliye dono galat hai... sirf pehla statement verbatim hai

He represents right wing view.... and now we have right wing govt... under present circumstances by accepting 3rd statement UPSC would be taking huge risk of going against ideology og government of the day
Anyway UPSC accepts evidence of horse as pointed by UPSC 1995 question... so saying that evidence is there but people were not aware at all is higly improbaple... a hypothetical situation

History writing is highly sensitive issue for BJP and forms part of their core ideology.
And agar evidence hain then they were aware.... of course... aisa ho sekta hai ki horse present the even few but noone knew about them... they might not be knowing aboit their usage at large scale.... but obiviously few of them knew about the animal
